It was windy here yesterday, then again it can be windy a lot. I attribute yesterdays 60km/h winds to a fast moving cold front that went through. No planet X in site anywhere.Just to be sure I called up Flight Services and asked the man if a planet was to blame for the wind, he just laughed at me...

There have been a lot of VERY gusty days here, which seem to correspond to INCREASED SOLAR ACTIVITY. High-speed coronal streams increase the amount of ozone in the upper atmosphere, which has a direct effect on wind-speed here on Earth. Specifically Southwest-to-east direction. It can also cause wind directions to change. Under "NORMAL" circumstances, this particular pattern is seen in the summertime. Of course, nothing about the current solar cycle is normal...

Some sincere questions if I might ask. I am just curious on the chain of logic. Feel free to fill in the details for me. I like science but there are always things I do not know How will coronal activity increase ozone in upper atmosphere? Then how will increased ozone affect wind direction and speed?
