Hi all, I'm new to the group and wondered if anyone can tell me anything about the stuff they call "sparklies". I saw some photos on Cliff Carnicom's site a while back and the dates on some of his film and photos coincide with an event which took place in Fife Scotland UK. The stuff in his photos and film looks very very similar. This isn't rain or dust, it doesn't land, it just moves about like "TV interference" in the air. That's about the best way I can describe it. Like I mentioned, Carnicom took film on Jan 3 2001(I think), and we had the stuff here in Scotland the same day, give or take 24 hours each way.
I have tried the technique where you hide the sun's disc behind an overhang so you can see little sparkling pieces of dust but the stuff i'm talking about is very different but
still looks very much like the particles in the "overhang technique" photos.
One day in the first week of January 2001 I woke up and saw out the window lots of shiny stuff moving in the air. It was the middle of winter and I at first thought it was steam immediately freezing into frost particles and coming from my heating flue on the outside wall. When I went outside it was everywhere and everyone was talking about it. It was a beautiful sunny day and there was still some snow left on the ground from a few days before. We didn't have to hide the sun behind an object to view it. It wasn't falling down it was moving in all directions and looked just like particles of white light, flattish, and about the size of a grain of sand. It lasted most of the day and faded about tea-time. The particles just seemed to appear and disappear in a second, moving all over the place and leaving a trail like tiny shooting stars. I put my hands out and it moved over them. We couldn't see it in the shadow of objects, nor was it visible to the north side of the house, so it was obviously reflecting the sunshine. I telephoned friends miles away and they saw the same stuff. I'll never forget it, it was certainly strange and most definitely not dust. It appeared and vanished like snow on a bad TV picture but at the same time didn't obscure the view of faraway objects like a fog would. I wondered at the time if it was some sort of 'fallout'. This stuff
didn't land, it left no discernible residue on anything it touched. Angel dust? Does anyone know? Has anyone experienced similar? Let me know please. Thanks.

Hi Wigit... welcome to the forum... I was very intrigued to read about your sparklies. I've seen what we call the webs and particulates here where we live and these happen on a frequent basis. But what your describing sounds very different. It sounds like it almost had an electric or static charge to it since you weren't able to actually touch it.
Now you say this has only happened one time? Were there some airplane trails in the sky that day or do you remember?
From you description it sounds like perhaps these were a charged mettalic particle.. like maybe aluminum since it reflected the sunlight. The best way to have found out would have been to take a sample in for analysis.

There would have been no way to get a sample of this stuff because like I said it just vanished as soon as it appeared though if it ever happens again I have two sterilised jars ready. Because of the strangeness of the event, and the increasing chemtrails in our area I bought myself a video camera in case it ever happens again. There were no noticable trails in the sky that day as I recall, I'm always looking upwards so I'd remember if I'd noticed anything untoward. What I do remember though is blowing on the stuff and having no effect on it whatsoever. It was like billions of tiny fireflies.
