They DO spray at night. That was what the original testing [1958-1969] was all about, for the reasons you mentioned, to not be seen or shot down. The biologicals don't need to hit people directly, they hang around until you bump into them the next day[s].
That was for biologicals, like Crystaline Mycoplasma Brucella. Or SARS, I believe.

These days, who knows? If these chemtrails we see are for the Tesla Shield, to block U.V. [if I got the right idea] then , of course, the sun only shines during the day so thats when they need to put up the shield. Every day!!

Frequency enhancers might be used more during the day, so maybe its just more practical. Besides, they don't really care if we see them - they are fairly sure of how the remain "deniable" - like using the contrails, which are common, to hide these 1 in 1000 "contrail that is actually a chemtrail".
