...and though we have a nice blanket of clouds sheilding us from the sun, it is still VERY warm here for a Jan. 1st. day. Without this 'skyshield' (I can't really tell if this one is natural or partially manmade) it would probably be over 70 deg. here. Most un-Missouri like for this time of year. I really have to wonder just how hot it would have been without the chem-clouds temp. modification effects. If this is regional or global warming, I must confess I kind of enjoy it, (maybe I won't have to retire to Florida for 60deg. winters.
I'm just partially kidding of course, as after winters over then of course comes our brutal summers. They can be real scorchers here in the midwest as in last year when the sun comes out and bakes the clay soil for months with high humidity, 90 deg. steady temps., no rain for months (lately until Fall) and a sun that seems more and more
Intense. We would have really baked had it not been for the constant efforts of our mighty chem-heroes who appear to be 'solving' a pollution problem by adding more pollution in the form of man made sun blocking clouds. Seems a bit counter intuitive but perhaps the economics is right.
WEll, as I'm an optimist, I'll end on a positive note. I look forward to a very interesting, hopeful, and productive year and also look forward to interacting with people and groups of people that feel we are NOT chained to the past nor to old and failed ways of thinking, but can have a very REAL impact, the True power residing with The People.
Happy New Year,
SmT
