Yes.. GSE doe's act as an insect repellant. Yesterday I went out for a much needed walk in the woods. There were tons of bugs, as there was alot of swamp land, and streams in this forest I was in. Thank God I had my handy dandy bottle of GSE with me. I just went to the stream, scooped up some water in my hand added a few drops of GSE, and rubbed it all over my exposed skin areas. Not one bug dared land on me the whole time I was in the woods after application, even when I was sitting near the water swampy area. One gnat did fly in my eye tho. I didn't put any GSE in my eye LOLOL. I don't recommend it either!!!!!
