Does anyone have info on how to counteract barium poisoning?---I know the info is on Carnicom's site somewhere, but don't have time to look for it. I know potassium is a major player, and that barium takes the place of metals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium, as it absorbs much faster. Thanks for input, LOVE AND POWER DF

Desert Flower, I think there are two products that have a chelating effect on metal toxictiy, thioctic acid or alpha lipoic acid, and IP6, which is a product mainly used to shrink cancerous tumors. I have heard that both are excellent in binding to and removing metals from the body, especially from the liver and kidneys. Both products are sold in most health food stores, and all of the discount vitamin catalogs and sites like www.vitaminshoppe.com carry them for a little less than retail. It is best to take alpha lipoic acid in capsule form, 100 mgs. twice a day, along with a vitamin C capsule or grape seed extract, as the lipoic acid actually regenerates the antioxidant and sends it back into the cells - like a double-whammy. You end up getting twice as much antioxidant in your system by taking it with lipoic acid. IP6 was first introduced by Enzymatic Therapy as Cell Forte, and it is most costly when buying it from them. Lots of other companies have copied the product, and it can be found much cheaper. There is also a book, "IP6", that is very inexpensive and much more descriptive than I am... Hope this helps! Actual Chelation Therapy is probably the most effective way to rid your body of toxins and plaque in the arteries, but it is costly and involves lots of two hour intravenous treatments. This I would opt for if I had worked around chemicals all my life, or if I had lots of arterial occlusions in my heart... MollyGainYa, with love
