Make that Weird NEWS Day and Dueling NEWS Conferences (is my "s" not working?)...I'm at home today and watching the tube. Talk about your high strangeness! First we have Netanyahu talking to members of Congress (How weird is that?), then Colin Powell, Superdove, from Spain(?) on his way to Israel to talk to Arafat, and now Ari Fleisher putting the White House spin on everything. Netanyahu took us to task for trying to get Israel to back off, says there's a triple standard...one for terrorists, one for democracies...and one for Israel. Sharon says we are making a "tragic mistake" meeting with Arafat. Where do we get off telling Israel what to do anyway? We are, in essence, doing the same thing they are. We've always backed them. Why the change of status now? Can you say OIL? Arafat has an agenda that he is not going to alter one bit and Sadaam is lurking out there waiting to take over where he leaves off. News says bin Laden is alive, abroad, and ready to resume terrorist acts. I have no idea who the good guys are anymore! Will the real GWB please stand up?Looks like maximum distraction going on. In the words of Agnes Moorehead in "Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte", "What's goin' on up there that you don't want me to see?" As Bette Davis would say, "Fasten your seat belts, boys.
