While stopping in a gas station early this morning, I was encountered by a hyper fellow who seemed to have somethng to say. I glanced at him, and welcomed his input. He referred to a small size paper AmeriKan flag that is distributed once weakly in our local paper. He said "I wonder why they even put these flags in the paper anymore??!" .... "nobody has any patriotism"... I thought, woah. hehe. I responded with "well, you have to ask what exactly is 'patriotism' anymore. slap mah fro'!". I'm liking to see random people pissed off at a gas station because people are speaking out about this racket we call the USA. I ended up completely debunking the guy and leaving him running to his car ranting "but they'll nuke us if we don't kill them first"... Then I had a quiet moment. I thought about paranoia in it's true sense. For this being that I encountered at the gas station was certainly a victim of terror, but what protocol broght him such terror? The media is the protocol, i realized, and he is yet another who has become irritable and defensively red faced and couldn't answer any question without a paranoid or overzeaolous tone. Who is creating this terror? It may be Al Quaida to some extent but they are the least of our worries. They hate America because of our leaders, because they know what we know, that it's all about greed power and control. Who is actually causing conditioned 'terror'? It's CNN. It's MSNBC. It's FOXNEWS. It's channel 4, 6, 8 and 12. It's propoganda. It's a lie. Terrorism does exist, but as always, be careful when considering who your true enemies are.

I couldn't agree with Alpha-Theta more.... Now more than ever progressives need to look out for false images and stories in ALL forms of media..not just televison.
"All that was required of them was a primitive patriotism which could be appealed to whenever it was necessary to make them accept longer working hours or shorter rations. And even when they became discontented, as they sometimes did, their discontent led nowhere, because, being without general ideas, they could only focus it on petty specific grievances. The larger evils invariably escaped their notice." —George Orwell, 1984 "Why of course the people don't want war ... But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship ...Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger." --Hermann Goering, Nazi leader, at the Nuremberg Trials after World War II
