For months now I have been reading one well written article after another regarding the subjects of terrorism, individual rights, weapons of mass destruction, evil-doers, inept administrators, warmongers, etc. etc. I have also watched much more TV coverage than I'm accustomed to and with all this inflow I haven't done much outflow.
Yesterday, though, something happened and I suddenly saw a way to do something effective but not bloody about this Iraq mess. This morning I was compelled to write this up. I'm not a writer so I hope that I haven't obscured my idea with an abundance of improper grammar or out of sequence thoughts. I don't really know who to send this to but I am going to begin by sending it to everyone in my address book then to the various online alternative news sources I subscribe to and finally I'll send it to those sites online working for peace. If its really a good idea and can be duplicated it will grow. If it isn't it won't. Here goes.

It seems that war with Iraq is now inevitable and this circumstance, in my opinion, just validates a behind the scenes intention held by the Bush administration that waging war is the ultimate answer to the question, "How can we take control of_______? It's not about liberation, compassion for an oppressed people or to save the world from weapons of mass destruction. No, this war and any war from the agressor's viewpoint is really coming from a desire for aquisition, control, power, ownership, greed and punishment. The other side is about defense.

I strongly suspect that if our president would of had it his way we would have been in war with Iraq way before now. However, he was apparently restrained by those around him more seasoned in the ways of the world and PR. Those people know the importance of establishing justification in order to have "clean hands". So our President was guided through the hoops of protocol and an acceptable motive for war was created, viewed and debated by others and finally agreed upon. War is now at hand.

The act of war is empirical evidence that the leaders involved had insufficient powers of reason and inability of communication to resolve the differences of agreement before them. Or if powers of reason were available in sufficient quanitity but not used then this would indicate that a darker agenda is in play. A fixed evil purpose is being dramatized.

As the communication of ideas digress down into the exchange of bullets and bombs we all suffer the consequences directly or indirectly. But let us not lose sight of our responsibility in this. Whether it's real to you or not we are all responsible for our condition and circumstances that we happen to find ourselves in. To travel down the road of blame and fault finding just takes us further down into the mire and further away from truth and reason. If there is war it is because we have to some degree given our agreement over to it.

In my work as a carpenter I will make mistakes in the execution of my trade. Early on in my career when I would make a mistake I would introvert and restrain myself (play it safe) therby lessening my ability. Eventually I smartened up and evolved a philosophy of doing my best to turn any mistake into an advantage and this has proved out to be quite workable.

I view the idea of waging war with Iraq as a solution to what the evil despot Saddam might do in the future to potentially be a mistake of considerable magnitude. However, I see a way that this potentiality of immense error could be turned into a positive effect.

The population of Iraq and the other countries in that part of the world have been living in a conditon of social, political and spiritual turmoil for many many years. Multitudes of wars have come and gone and the state of turmoil continues. So, it's a safe bet that another war isn't going to change much - just ownership and control. That being said, it's time we enact a new strategy into that region and this is how I see it could go:

It is time for those people of the world in possesion of the ability to reason, communicate and understand to intervene. Our world leaders are leading us down the well worn path of ineffective solutions established as such througout history. We are days away from war and entering into more diatribe with those leaders who are so thoroughly stuck in the ruts of history is futile. It is time to by-pass. What I suggest is, that anyone on this planet who wants to better this condition and is not in support of war as the only solution and has sufficient intestinal fortitude, should make a journey to Iraq and prepare to occupy that space for the duration. Of course, there will be many of us who don't have the means to make such a physical trip. But there will be many who do have both the means and the courage to do such a thing. The rest of us can organize to furnish those who go with whatever support is required.

The eyes of the world are focused on Iraq right now and the country is quickly being surrounded with troops ready to storm the country. Saddam and whatever diabolical plans he may have as well as President Bush and his desire for war must be nutralized and this can be done by overwhelming the country of Iraq, not with soldiers, tanks and fighter jets, but with masses of peaceful minded souls equiped with skills and abilities of reason and communication and having an aligned intention and purpose to help better that condition.

Just imagine Iraq being overwhelmed by civilians from around the world who have come to join them in the face of such potential harm and destruction to help elevate the condition of life and change minds and the course of history with ideas not bullets, bombs, and torture. To come together peacefully and create a new future for the population of Iraq to step into and be willing to do whatever it takes to achieve this. Imagine what an effect this would have on the world.

Note: It is essential that as many artists as possible embark on this journey. I cold never hope to explain the reason for this as artfully as the American philosopher and writer, L. Ron Hubbard, did in 1951 in the book, Science of Survival. Following are excerpts from that book.

quote:
"The artist works with life and universes. He can deal with any level of communication. He can create any reality. He can enhance or inhibit any affinity.

"The artist has an enormous role in the enhancement of today's, and the creation of tomorrow's, reality. He operates in a rank in advance of science as to the necessities and requirements of man. The elevation of a culture can be measured directly by the numbers of its people working in the field of aesthetics. A society which in any way inhibits, suppresses or regiments its artists is a society most certainly doomed.

"A totalitarian state, following its usual line of perversion of truth, talks endlessly and raucously about its subsidization of the artist. But it subsidizes only those artists who are willing to work for the state exactly as the state dictates. It regiments the artist and prescribes what he will do and what he will write and what he will think, This is in direct controversion to the function fo the artist in a society. Because the artist deals in future realities, he always seeks improvements or changes in the exisitng reality. This makes the artist, inevitably and invariably, a rebel against the startus quo. The artist, day by day, by postulating the new realities of the future, accomplishes peaceful revolution.

"A culture is only as great as its dreams, and its dreams are dreamed by artists. when the level of existence of the artist becomes impure, so becomes impure the art itself, to the deterioration of the society.

"It is a dying society indeed into which can penetrate totalitarianism. The group aesthetic mind of that society must be almost wholly unable to operate. No society in which art was elevated and supported, in which the writer, the musician, the poet or the architect had any stability or position, would tolerate the work-dog theory of man's highest destination. For if the industry and commerce and material projects of a nation are carried on the backs of a few able, desperate men, then the honor and the glory of that society is carried and enhanced by the artist." L. Ron Hubbard

I see this concept unfolding before me in much broader detail than I am capable of articulating. It's just an idea but I have learned that an idea can be incredibly powerful. I'm showing this idea to you. If you can find agreement with it then begin creating on it too and forward it on. The more agreement it gains the faster it will move from idea to actual physical reality. It's time we come together and act to put an final end to man's automaticity to latch onto war as a solution. We do not need permission to do this. Nor do we need some title or badge. We all have a vested interest in the future of this planet and we all have the right to act even though some may try to make us believe otherwise.

This is my seed I sow today.

Thank you.

WHAT???? HOW DARE YOU QUESTION OUR SAVIORS IN THE WHITEHOUSE...YOU MUST BE WITH AL-QAIDA...YOU COMMIE!!!!!!

Just kidding

Hoop,

That's a great idea. We need more people SPEAKING OUT about this nonsense. The only people who stand to gain from this war are the people who have MONEY INVESTED in this war...wether it be the Carlyle Group, the Bush's, the Bin Ladens, you name it. Already the chickenhawks re talking about massive Auchwitz-style mass graves for our troops so it is very important that this war should be stopped and the REAL TERRORISTS exposed.

Thanks for your efforts...it's definately worth reading.

God bless.

Hoople; You have to be a very special person. Thanks for sharing your beautiful thoughts on CTC.. From my observation and experience, the elevated plane upon which your thoughts are based are likely not to be met with much enthusiasm. The people in the USA are a diverse bunch and not pulling together for the benefit of the whole. Look at the chemtrail issue, although many are slowly waking up, the majority are in a stupor. Then there are the ones who tell you, "these are just normal contrails" Come on now, not all of us are half wits!!! The discord errupts into nastiness expressed right on this site. As beautiful thought as it is, it's not likely many will travel to Iraq for the purpose of protecting the innocent and peace. Many are in a mental fog, thanks to watching T.V; movies, pornography, immorality, violence, nonsense situation "comedies", dispicable action video's. They can't see the methodical destruction of desirable characteristics, promoted by those in control of the various aspects of education, entertainment, media and government. Hoople keep your light shining, it would be a disaster to be in total darkness. Jeanie
Fortunately we're not 100% dumb dumbs. You are a good example of that along with some others who post here.

Mech and Jeannie, thank you very much for your supportive words regarding my simple idea. Your comments have sparked another line of thought for me.

You know, the idea is the easy part. Even though an idea is composed of matter, energy, space and time it has no solid mass and, that being the case, makes the ownership of any idea easy to assume. Also, in a flash of thought it is possible to have an idea so embracive and comprehensive that it would take literally tomes of written words to delineate. But, in any case, it is always the idea that precedes any physical manifestation.

Now this simple idea of mine might appear to be a good idea but it's actually not. It is only a good idea in theory and as such really doesn't have much significance beyond the fact that any idea is better than no idea. To qualify as a genuine good idea it would have to be doable and possess a better than not chance of workability. This simple idea of mine is not doable and if it's not doable there's no need to even consider its workability. Perhaps, though, it could serve to provoke or stimulate some worthwhile conversation or even foster some other ideas that could be executed and to whatever degree that would happen would be an index of its value.

Jeannie, you wrote:

Your observations Jeannie are spot on except that I don't see the diversity of our country's population being a significant barrier to the enactment of my idea. However, the general emotional wavelength of the population and ability to think analytically are certainly formidable barriers. The genuine emotion of enthusiasm is quite a high wavelength for humans and if you've ever been around someone who is really in the emotion of enthusiasm you've probably noticed how much more rapidly they execute everything. Enthusiasm also allows for quick exchange of ideas and realities simultaneously being able to experience different realities without a compulsion to defend that reality or enforce or convert agreement to align with one's own. Also the person who is enthusiastic is much more in touch with their ability for analytical thought and can thereby more easily differentiate between differences, similarities and identities. They have a much higher ability of perception and estimation of potential consequences of action. It would truly be wonderful if there were thousands of enthusiastic people agreeing with my idea and leaving for Iraq right this minute. Then my idea could possibly work.

I would say though that the general emotional wavelength of our country's population is that of fear or even lower. When a population is in fear it is easy to control, confuse and upset. When people are confused and upset their actions and thoughts are dispersed. In the emotion of fear people react emotionally and usually with inappropriate and misguided force. Perceptions are diminished and any willingness or desire to understand and skill of reason is abated. Look around. There is a great deal of fear and upset in our country.

Personally, I think that over the last 4 decades (maybe longer) the big PR and advertising firms have been utilized to launch campaigns through a variety of media forms to gradually and with extreme subtleness create a population that fears and distrusts one another to such an extent that any organization and alignment to a common cause toward the bettering of conditions cannot occur.

Imagine today, stopping to pick up a hitchhiker without having a fear of what terrible thing this person might do. Or, if you happen to be the one hitch hiking and not having the same fear as someone stops to give you a lift. Imagine seeing another motorist in distress and having a willingness to immediately stop and give what assistance you could without having that action be accompanied by a flood of suspicion and fear to what might really be going on. We have locks, bars, fences ,alarms, etc. and law after law passed all to protect us and keep us safe from.....what? Of course, it's to protect us from our fellow man and/or woman and yes, even protect us from ourselves. Not to mention all those other people in the world. We suspect almost everyone of having some dark agenda and trust is a rarity. Rather than begin a conversation with our neighbor to discover who they are and gain understanding, we hire an investigation agency to find out all the dirt there is about them. Of course, these are generalizations I'm making but if you look around you and within yourself you can most likely spot an abundance of distrust and suspicion toward others. We have been told so many times in so many ways that its not safe and that we are not safe that we have eased into a thorough agreement with it. And once we buy it we then help to perpetuate it.

Also, how do we work? What motivates us? Are we interested in life and the pursuit of our dreams or have we all been hooked up to economic leashes that get shorter and shorter? So many people I know are not working from a purpose motivation. Instead, its all too common to see and hear work referred to as the "daily grind" and the motivation to work is fear of penalty. Fear of what will happen if the flow of money stops.

With a plethora of credit cards fishing for our business our consumer addictions are played upon to the max and we are convinced and encouraged that having before doing (buy now pay later) is a good thing. We take the bait, the hook is set and we stay on the line. Hence, we early on commit ourselves to long term debt and the economic leash is shortened another few notches.

Then there's the 12 year program of public "education" that doesn't educate at all but implants and fixes various training patterns and stimulus responses like some Pavlovian dog. And for years now those free thinkers having trouble "fitting in" or readily conforming to the training patterns have been degraded with a variety of labels all followed with the word disorder. Once the label is slapped on the chemical strait jackets are administered by the school nurses no less. Students are graduated in mass as robots, mentally numbed with drugs and addicted to consumption. They're barely able to read and write and trained to accept information as "true" only when its delivered on certain authoritative lines. The idea of questioning, challenging, and making self determined evaluations has been carefully eradicated in the "education" process. The adverse ramifications of this go far and wide and will only continue to worsen.

Then there's the factor of our rapid advances of technologies. These advancements, particularly in communication and transportation, have continued to make the planet smaller and smaller by greatly reducing the amount of time required for anything to get from point A to point B or point Z. So something happening on the other side of the world, whether good or bad, can have direct and rapid impact on us. Like it or not, we have become a global community and we had better begin to act like it.

For someone to act on my simple idea that person would have to possess a deep understanding of how connected we all are regardless of arbitrary and imaginary boundaries that separate countries and cultures. They would have to be able to perceive and extrapolate the potential consequences of using war as a solution to nullify Saddam Hussein and realize how this war could change the shape of the world we live in. I believe that it would take a person of this capacity to have purpose and intent sufficient enough to be willing to leave their home, family and friends, travel to a strange and dangerous country and put their life on the line to have a small chance of injecting reason into a situation that has moved far away from reason. This person would not be incapable of feeling fear in this quest but would not be in-fear. There's a difference.

There is another quote of Hubbard's that in these times flashes at me like a Las Vegas billboard and I want to end off with that quote.

quote:
"....but it is not a speculation that life will become much more interesting on this planet. There is nothing as wild in the books of man as will probably happen here on Earth. And it will happen and be allowed to happen simply because all this is so incredible that nobody will even think of stopping it until it is far, too late. Its incredibility is its best safeguard, so you needn't bother to convince anybody who doesn't want to believe it."

-L. Ron Hubbard
from the book, History of Man, Chapter 7 (c) 52, 57, 80 and 88

Hoop,

I understand completely what you saying. I have been involved with technology and the arts since the late 50's. The one thing I always say is, "Given the choice of creativity or money in any situation, always take the most creative route". It has always worked for me. I eventually found my first, one and only wife 35 years ago, still am playing music and doing video for a living, and financially sound. I have seen friends from years ago, give up music and art, go for money, and have terrible marriages and/or divorces. It's like a burning desire that wasn't quelled by a drive for standard marriage and quest for money.

The only word of advice I have for anyone who asks how I have resisted so long is, "Don't buy their porno, music, movies, art, TV, food, violence, and war". They being exactly who you think they are, the ones who think of money and power before love and art.
