Well, I was the cause for that.I submitted a link to Fark.com to this site, and Fark is well known for completely abolishing servers because of the rate at which members (Of which I am one) arrive at the linked site. Fark gets over a million distinct web hits per day. Go to Fark.com, and scroll through the stories until you find one headline talking about aviation/weather/poison/government, and see all 200 odd comments about this site. Sorry if I fried the servers

Dicussing two different stats, vistors in last 24 hours, and most vistors in any 24 hour period.

hmmm...well the 6152 visitors were in the same place as the 154...I remember this...I was there... the distinction you make is unclear... also interesting how the inability to access this board by kook chem myself and lulu a while back had the exact same characteristics as the mass infusion of fark.com visitors...

Correct. Around the time of farkifikation, both stats were reporting the very high number, the 'most ever' stat at bottom of dedicated Who's Online, as well as the 'in last 24 hours' stat at bottom of main forums page. Now we are back below 1000, for 'in last 24 hours' stat, but the record book stat is still 6000+.
