Let's say for a moment that there is no such thing as chemtrails as we believe them to be (or don't believe them to be). Why did people start thinking that they there was a covert aerial aerosal operation going on? I asked this on a different post, but didn't really get an answer.

I am an ameteur astronomer,i first started noticing them in '97 when they began obstructing the sky.The sky hasn't looked the same since! If you don't agree move on...we are way beyond doubting the existence of chemtrail's.

That was a comment I made in a different post- that they didn't look that way 10-20 years ago. I was told here that they haven't changed, but I saw what I saw and it sure doesn't look like it does today.

Well the problem is that you are relying on your perceptions and memories, which are inherently unreliable for everyone. There have been plenty of photos from the past 60 years of persistent contrails.

I trust my memories and perceptions. What about emfx13's post above? You would think an amateur astronomer is gonna have reliable observations about the sky. Did he just not see them until 1997?

Jet traffic has increased immensely in the last 10 years so that is part of the reason for the increase. Another reason is jet engines are continually being rediesigned. In the last few years, stricter regulations regarding noise levels have come into effect making it necessary for the engines to be updated. The newer engines that are better able to meet the sound regulations also burn fuel more efficiently and have a different content to the gasses contained in the exhaust. More water and more CO2 is present and less CO.

graeme, you may be like to know that some un-mechanistic scientist are also interested in persistent chemtrails. I believe both are a major problem to all life.Persistent Contrails are as big a worry as chemtrails according to this document: link to pdf file
