How does he do it? How do they do it? Uncanny and immutable. This is such a happening tailpipe of a party. Like sugar, the guests are so refined, (look like melting Mand;MS)A confidence man, but why so beleaguered? He's not a leader, he's a Texas leaguer Swinging for the fence, got lucky with a strike Drilling for fear, makes the job simple Born on third, thinks he got a triple Blackout weaves its way through the cities Blackout weaves its way through the cities Blackout weaves its way, ... I remember when you sang That song about today Now it's tomorrow and Everything has changed A think tank of aloof multiplication A nicotine wish and a colombus decanter Retrenchment and hoggishness What's the ruckus? The haves have not a clue The immenseness of suffering And the odd negotiation, a rarity With onionskin plausibility of life, And a keyboard reaffirmation Blackout weaves its way through the cities Blackout weaves its way through the cities Blackout weaves its way, ... I remember when you sang That song about today Now it's tomorrow and Everything has changed I'm not a fan of Pearl Jam but anti-bush songs are always great.......

I like progressive and psychedelic, rave, trip-hop, trance, indie, and rare bands myself...Here is one more well known.. Wake Up Although ya try to iscredit Ya still never edit The needle, I'll thread it Radically poetic Standin' with the fury that they had in '66 And like E - Double, I'm mad Still knee - deep in the system's shit Hoover, he was a body remover I'll give ya a dose But it'll never come close To the rage built up inside of me Fist in the air, in the land of hypocrisy Movements come and movements go Leaders speak, movements cease When theirheads are flown 'Cause all these punks Got bullets in their heads Department of police, the judge, the feds Networks at work, keepin' people calm You know they went after King When he spoke out on Vietnam He turned the power to the have - nots And then came the shot Wit' poetry, my mind I flex Flip like Wilson, vocals never lackin' dat fitnesse Whadda I have to do to wake you up To shake you up, to break the structure up 'Cause this blood still floods in the gutter I'm like talkin' photos Mad boy kicks open the shutter Set the groove Then I stick and move like I was Cassius Rep the stutter step Then bomb a left upon the facists Yea, the several federal men Who pulled schemes on the dream And put it to an end Ya better beware Of retribution with mind war 20/20 visions and murals with metaphors The networks at work, keepin' people calm Ya know they murdered X And tried to blame it on Islam He turned the power to the have - nots And then came the shot What was the price on his head Rage against the Machine

New World Disorder Hey, yo f**k it. I'm rollin in a 4-barrel Camaro, toward the Triboro, eyes narrow East River flow with marrow, along side the bridge zombies pushing bodies in wheel barrows, bitches sterile follow on crutches of rusted arrows try to breath through esophagus stuffed with sparrows, the imperial, terrarembrium, the spherical, I turn the steering wheel and pull into a 7-Eleven, met up with Billy, Danny, Rob and Evan from the fucking Bio, yo we down for survival with acid raindrenched skin infest- ed by termites, hermaphrodites on bikes swing spikes, think twice as I try to pacify the pariah beside the driver and Shotgun kelly flips the visor, time to devise a plan to reverse the demise of man before he's met by the lastset of the sun, armageddon, no question to answer, disaster results from behavior patterns. Earth lay raped, escape to saturn in a capsule, thirteen days of travel. Upon arrival plans unravel, imbalance of chemical pheremones, clones with no genitals surround us, we can't f**k them, no means of reproduction. I hear a scream and turn in that direction, 33-23-33, I see seven, coming toward us, to reward us...
Disorder, enter the Millenium, time gets shorter Disorder, behold a pale horse, new world disorder Armageddon, a new death is dawnin', I like the smell of napalm in the morning, four riders of the apocalypse descend from the north, a tear in my eye, I behold a pale horse.
Armageddon, no time to cry we all die as the sky turns red, the missles start to fly. Factions take action, eleven families rule, the millenium approaches, survival of the roaches. Body armor will make you feel calmer or safe from the drama, deploy stealth military bombers, ass out, get down on your knees and pray; illuminati takes your soul on the eve of judgement day as the armies of darkness irradicate life and we all go to hell and satan f**s your wife. Strife, ter- ror without a minute to pray, human beings at odds, peace becomes dis- aray, I'm humongous from Mad Max, Lord of the Wasteland with crazy ill troops all at my command, don't you ever fall victim to my master plan, I'm the dealer of death and here's your motherf**in' hand. I'm ready to take back whatever they sold ya cuz the scheme is a SECRET nobody ever told ya, an underground illuminated tribe of radicals ready to take forth and feast like cannibals, animals, huffing the fumes of rotting flesh exhumed from the corpses of presisdents, dissents and fools with a one way ticket from the TEMPLE of doom, dark sides of moons and ill atomic booms leave the earth all shakin and full of wounds from Krakatoa east of Java to Camaroon, and coming soon to a theater near you, the end of everything that we once knew.
The grand finale strap my body with TNT, take the president and his bitch with me tearing down the walls of this conspiracy, f**k skull and bones and illuminati. Irradication of the land of the free but I'm the brave, ain't going out like a motherf**kin' slave, neobarbaric post- apocalyptic war, ground zero NY, the world at war.
I woke up, bar codes on my forehead, it's a living nightmare, my families all dead. I gotta call Fred but no dail tone, I'm out for self cuz I'm gonna die alone, this is madness I'm drooling with the lock jaw, my elevator don't go to the top floor, I hold my breath cuz the O2 killed, I'm suffocating, I can't pay my oxYgen bill. There's no tomorrow, I wish a nigga murder me, the president declared a state of emergency. The coast guard bangin' at my front door, I got homemade bombs if they want war. There's no sun, they put a fucking chip in me, I'm a clone, mat- ta fact it's a different me. I'm high tech kid, you get a bomb in the mail, so if you die today then I'll see you in hell, I'll see you in hell, see you in hell.

I recognize the Rage song, have that cd laying around somewhere. Not to say that musical tastes necessarily suggest age. I now feel that I'm not exclusively speaking with senior citizens here. For some reason I expected people to respond with the Beach boys or something, what a relief! I just had the sense that everyone else was alot older than I am. I no longer feel so out of place. I also remember someone posting a pic of the singer of Static X. This caught me by surprise. These days, fabricated, candy coated pop groups have denigrated the character of music and the industry. It's such a shame that america adores these fake pop stars that don't even write their own lyrics. By supporting such generic entertainment, the standard will continue to fall. Creativity and originality have become obscure in music today, it's no longer appreciated.

Radiohead's "Thief" steals applause by Chirs Iberle June 02, 2003
Radiohead is one of those bands who can change their sound from album to album, yet stay distinctively and uniquely "Radiohead". Hail to the Thief, the new album due out June 10, may not be the reinvention some might expect, but it is most definitely Radiohead doing what they do best: making wonderfully intricate music and concept albums. Thief stays true to that tradition, a detailed and complex album that is sure to spark interest and maybe a little controversy. Hail to the Thief, a reference to George W. Bush’s non-military coup of the White House, will strike a chord in those who pay attention to the message. Going beyond simple Bush bashing, lead singer Thom Yorke brings his haunting voice and lyrics to an album that references George Orwell’s 1984 throughout, beginning with the very first track, "2+2=5". As drawing comparisons between the Bush administration and Big Brother become easier and easier, Yorke and the boys are adding a suitably daunting and ominous soundtrack. Hail to the Thief follows Radiohead’s earlier Ok Computer in its digitally influenced and enhanced sound. Adding just enough nuance, a blip here and a bleep there, helps add to the whole "computerization of society" theme. In addition, it tweaks and infiltrates every track (most notably on "Sit Down, Stand Up") adding a complexity that only helps accentuate Yorke’s soaring vocals and the chunky guitar riffs. In contrast, acoustic or piano driven tracks (occurring later in the album, such as "I Will") seem even more human and heartfelt than ever. Many of the tracks on Hail to the Thief are guitar-based, but most of the album has a wide mix of synthesizers, piano, guitar, computer programs, and other odd instruments. Each one adds a new level of interest to every eerie track. This is not new to Radiohead, and is something they do extremely well. But the entire concept and theme of Big Brother (or George W. Bush) is punctuated by special effects or synthesizers, compelling you to watch your back and wonder if he really is watching. Thief as a whole stands as a very good piece of work, Radiohead-wise. It is true, though, that comparing Radiohead albums is tough to do. In comparison to other albums by other artists coming out right now, it is fantastic, and I most definitely recommend it. Yorke’s lyrics are as metaphorical as always, with each song one serving as a reminder to resist becoming a mechanical being, ruled by the forces that be through various avenues. He asks us to re-evaluate everything around us, including the very value system with which we judge the world. Hail to the Thief is another wonderful concept album from one of the most forward thinking bands of our time, and gets 2+2=5 stars in my book. Christ Iberle is a freshman journalism major.

The Smoke Of Her BurningEarth and sea cower from my screams As I climb into the skies Atop sins towered heaven high for me From whence I see no reason why I should not smite with vengeance And hurl thieves down from paradise For storms before were as nothing more Than a breeze next to this night I am Methuselah of the Tribulation The Moonchild come to harm A riot of stars shaken from their stations The coking smoke of Jerusalem burning Six vices become wrath And though half-blind with ravening Like Phineus now I see The end declared from the beginning Love won through My defeat But now I fear I will never peer On Her radiance again I shall glimpse instead, the slurried red Of faces pressed to bloodstained panes Betrayed and played by God Who alone but He Scapegraced and goated me? Now I wish to piss on His parade Angels, clawed, with burnished wings Still loyal, kiss the seal Bent on knees and harrowing Promise overkill Know that you shall die like whores And the cries of your writhings shall rise To please their Lord... So before the sword Side with me in slaughter I am Methuselah of the Tribulation The Moonchild come to harm The spoken horns of desolation Drink the pouring of my fury Those darkened waters spur The brink of war as judge and jury And rapist executioner Our time is short, the horsemen ride A foul-breathed chora howls, besides Damnation and a day has passed This divine right to genocide Weld the gates to heaven shut The abyss leers in hissing ruts Unhilt the black grimoire of death Inscribe all names that God has left I lived the dream of nymph and men But now the nightmares come again Now the nightmares come again... End Of Daze [Narrative:] And the earth was without fall and void And darkness was apon the face of the deep
