Well, my mother just got back from vacation from California. She was up in Lancaster staying with some friends. A few days prior to her leaving they were out shoping. Shes not for sure but she thinks that they were way out on Ave J or Ave L. She said that they were stopped by military officials. This is in the middle of the desert, just so that you know. There was a vacant lot or parcel of land, and they were pulling their vehicles in and parking and some were leaving heading out. There was a lot of them maybe 50 to 100 of them, she is not sure. She said that they had tankers and big huge flat bed trucks they were carring 1 tank on each vehicle. The tanks were yellow in color, a medium yellow. They were unmarked and had no camouflage on them at all. They sat there waiting awhile before they were allowed to go through. They had driven by that area the day before and noticed that the vehicles were covered by camouflage, but didn't know what it was. So when they went out the next day and witnessed this, it caught them off guard. It must have taken several hours to move them all because they saw this around noon and that evening she saw another friend that witnessed the same thing and also had been stopped but, it was later in the afternoon that she drove through. She dosen't know what they were doing or where they were going, but her friend has lived there for years and never seen anything like this. Edwards Airforce Base is out there about 30 miles away. Maybe that is where they were heading? Who knows! I have never seen yellow military vehicles before. Does anyone know anything about these? Was this just part of a drill? There have been a lot of those lately. I wonder what they were practicing for? I wish she had a camera and that she could have taken pictures of this. No one that lives there has seen this type of activity out there. I just thought that I would share this with all of you. God Bless, Melanie

Thanks so much for letting us know Melanie. Very odd indeed! Is the yellow color to blend in with the Asian Dust Clouds? the sand? I wonder...

Lulu, I don't know what the yellow tankers were for. I have never seen them before. Everyone down there that witnessed this, said that they had never seen anything like it and that something just seemed stange about the whole thing. Maybe they were doing some sort of practice drill? For what... who really knows. I still wish she could have got pictures of it, but oh well whats done is done God Bless, Melanie

Good morning, Melanie! I have to add to your story that we saw the same thing happening on Hwy. 281 in Texas in March. There were lots of light yellow tanks being transported with lots of yellow-green camo-painted hummers in the line heading south toward San Antonio, the largest major city in that direction. The tanks were probably being sent from Ft. Hood in Killeen, which we also passed through on our way to a hospital in Temple. Ft. Hood was having a gigantic maneuvers practice day and camo tents were set up everywhere, and helicopters were flying everywhere, and all the troops were displaying all the war vehicles and killing machines. It was kinda scary, and we got lost on the base looking for the hospital that's right on it's boundary. I was afraid we'd be pulled over for spying! At the time things were really starting to heat up in the Middle East, and my husband and I figured it was all in preparation for that. Who knows?? It looked like Desert Storm revisited. Just thought I'd mention that. Have a wonderful day, anyway MollyGainYa, with love ------------------ UnHappyTrailsToUs
