You know you have to worry when they say there is 'no threat to health'
US Govt. Develops EM Wave Device To Scan Humans
[Original headline: 'Radar' eye exposes concealed weapons ]
A radar-like device that can "see" concealed weapons under the clothing of people standing up to 50ft away is being developed in America.
The device is designed to help police to spot people in crowds who may be carrying guns or knives and could be perfected to detect plastic explosives.
The high-frequency, radar-like machine sends out electromagnetic waves and then builds a picture of metal objects from the beams returned. One scientist at the American government's National Institute of Standards and Technology's laboratories in Boulder, Colorado, said: "What we are doing is along the lines of radar.
"We illuminate an area with high frequency radiation or three-millimetre-wavelength waves. That allows us to see details, but anything finer than three millimetres we won't see."
He said the radiation posed no danger to health.

Why I wonder would there be such an upsurge in people carrying guns, knives and explosives in the USA to warrant such a 'tool'?
