Plane may have already landed...Star News said all passengers safe but remained aboard the jet, which was parked at an isolated area at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The jet belonged to the Alliance company, a domestic subsidiary of Indian Airlines... http://www.drudgereport.com

Lets see, we have a bus hijacking, an airplane hijacking, a missing tank truck, and a missing cropduster. What next! Don't think I want to know. Scanner

Has anyone thought of the idea that they may get another jet, and use it in a real 'kamikaze' attack on a U.S. carrier?Probably wouldn't get past our defenses, but I'm sure they'd love to hit a carrier. Also, how many airliners are there around sitting around that are not part of an airline. I think it's a safe bet to say we will see more 'Airliner Kamikaze' attacks somewhere in the future.

Thankfully, it turns out that this was a false alarm. Apparently a ground controller recieved a call that indicated that the flight had been hijacked, however it simply didn't turn out to be true. The pilots received word, locked themselves in the cabin, announced that they were landing due to mechanical issues, and the passengers were none the wiser until the situation got sorted out on the ground.

I wonder if it won't be easier now to buy a plane, given the sorry state that the worlds airlines are in.Anybody remember the '5th' plane on 9/11? Flight 175 from Boston to LA. haven't heard anything about it since the afternoon of 9/11. Did it turn up anywhere?

Good point, seems like airliners will be available at bargain prices? Like former Soviet military hardware, technology and personnel. With the state of Russia's economy, it would be amazing if some of their weapons/tech didn't get sold to enemies of the U.S. There had to have been Soviet hardliners, not to mention Russian/international mafia looking to make a buck (ruble?), with no qualms about how or where their weapons/tech would be? Weapons were one of the Soviet Unions main exports. I didn't hear that report about a 5th plane. Or did I? I did hear something about there being arabic 'pilots' in the cockits of other plane(s) that day. It was a customery form of courtesy in some cases to allow a pilot into the cockpit if okayed by the captain. Maybe some of them decided not to give their lives to Allah that day?
