I’ll preface these remarks with the statement that I love America and I want to believe George Bush is a good, Christian man who is trying to do the right thing. That being said, I have these nagging, gut feelings about some things that I am having trouble putting to rest.On 9/11, I had the distinct impression the President was not in control of things for several hours after the bombings. It was as if there was some kind of struggle for power going on that we were not allowed to know about. I’ve had that same feeling many times since. I also wonder why Dick Cheney is so much out of the picture. I understand these are strange times and we don’t want to risk losing the President and Vice-President at the same time, but I don’t ever remember a vice-president being so closeted before. I hope he isn’t ill. On the night of the President’s speech to Congress, which was absolutely brilliant and delivered exceptionally well, I had the overwhelming feeling I was listening to someone else entirely. It was as if he had become a different person overnight. Instead of feeling comforted, I felt disturbed. Where did this guy come from? He was saying all the right things, and I desperately wanted to believe everything he said, but I was just overwhelmed with some feeling I can’t even put a name to. Was it just the terrible circumstances that changed him so radically or has he always been that way behind the scenes? Our government appeared to be taking their time in order to do things “right” in Afghanistan and I was feeling a little better about things, but now we seem to be making the same mistakes we have made in the past plus some new ones. I thought this was supposed to be a different kind of war, but it looks like business as usual . And, it appears we have just shoved Israel to the side in order to cozy up to the Arab countries. I don’t think I have ever seen that done before. Our President has even said he favors a Palestinian state as long as Israel is allowed to exist in peace. Why did he pick NOW to say that. Why didn’t he say it before? Also, we are buddy-buddy with the Russians and the Chinese. It appears to me we are walking right into some sort of set-up in Afghanistan where the Russians, Chinese and Arabs have us in THEIR territory, not to mention in their sights. Is that by design? Can we really trust these guys? I get the same sort of uneasy feeling about Blair, Sharon and Arafat that I do about Bush. It’s like they APPEAR to be in control, but I get the feeling they really aren’t. So, who the heck IS in control? Maybe they’re all reptilian shape-shifters. ( JUST KIDDING, guys. I was getting a little heavy so I thought I’d lighten up a little.) I’ve never been one for conspiracy stories. Oh, I read all the stuff, but I want to see proof. I absolutely can’t substantiate any of my “feelings” so don’t go quoting me. I guess I’m just wondering out loud and wanting to see if I’m alone in this uneasy feeling. And, I’m not prejudiced against any race, religion or nationality. I may disagree with the policies of some nations, but they have a right to live and worship the way they want to in their own countries just as we do. When it comes to terrorism and human rights abuses…that’s another story. And, we have to defend our own country. I am a Christian, and, frankly I don’t see the USA in the endtime scenario the Bible speaks of. It appears we are either neutralized or we become a part of the “alliance” against Israel when Armageddon breaks loose. Are we working up to that? Only God knows. I don’t live in fear because I know God is in control, even though He seems to be giving us lots of rope to hang ourselves with sometimes. He did, however, tell us their would be a big deception that would fool many people in the endtimes. Guess we can only watch carefully and pray for wisdom and discernment so we’ll know the truth when we see it. Hopefully our nation’s leaders will do the same. Hi Scanner: I can relate to a lot of what you just said. I too am a fervent Christian and know He is in control. I also know every generation thought that they were living in the "end times"....One of those (ours?) gets to be right. I don't fear either. Ya gotta die of somethin' it's great to be sure of where you are going when you do. How exciting if we get to be the ones, not all will experience death before the rapture..

Scanner and FLKook, I'm a believer, too. I may be the only one who sees this, but what I sense in George W. Bush is a brother in Christ. Not a perfect man, but one who has a vital, growing personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. One who reads his Bible and prays to his Father in heaven in private. One who takes what he reads in the Bible and tries to put it into shoe leather every day of his life. I did not and do not see that relationship in the life of his father, George H.W. Bush, so I was initially skeptical of the son. But from what I have observed in G.W.'s behavior so far, my opinion is that he is the genuine article.

I wish I could agree with you guys, but I cannot. Words are cheap, and anyone can read out of the Bible. Bush is a satanist, illuminst, and conspirator. Politics, religion, and sex...three things that are not good to discuss with most folks...but I am truly confused about the above postings....is there anyone that worships Jesus and God that can explain to some of the rest of us how the current President is seen as religious when he is a member of the Skull and Cross Bones Society...research on that society reveals nothing of a religious or Christ orientated nature...Why a man of Jesus would insist on "swearing in" on innauguration day on a Masonic Bible instead of a Bible of/about God and Christ. Masonic teachings do not seem to reveal anything of value in relation to God or Christ in a "positive" aspect. Why the religious proposals are always mentioned as "Faith based", as if to even say the words "Jesus or God" are to be avoided at all costs? Just wondering...don't really expect or want an answer because I know already, that religion and politics being discussed can lead to highly emotionally charged and even mean-spirited responses. For my own self, just cannot see how this person is percieved as being "In Christ"...J. Just stating an opinion just like others here have...no politics intended....just??? Do not understand..that's about it.

Delphi, what you said about not using the terms Jesus or God... I could not help but notice the seemingly complete abscense of the term "United States" during the 8-year Clinton Regime. I had read that somewhere and continued to listen to Clinton speeches, and was amazed to find it was true. Part of the effort towards a New World Order and an end the our United States of America?.... to get it out of the minds of younger people, remember when they eliminated school prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance? Get the new younger generations to think in terms of a New World Order, not a United States of America. Replace or erase their thoughts of God or Jesus with NWO during Clinton, and now in the Bush administration, it's back to USA and prayers?... At least in the aftermath of 9/11 attacks. Is this all part of the plan? After 8 years of attacks against the U.S. Constitution by (among others), the U.S. President, now we have a complete 'about face' in the media and political dialogue with regards to renewed patriotism and an overt switch to a war-based economy.

Yep...I have a problem with the Skull and Crossbones thing, too. Of course, that was in his college days and people can change. Didn't know about the Masonic Bible thing. Don't much like that. Like the post before yours, I was skeptical of "W" at first, then felt (and hoped) he was real, then started having doubts again. Guess time will tell the tale. Meanwhile, we just have to keep our eyes open and put our trust in God, not in any man. And, you're right about the politics/religion/sex thing. Didn't mean to stir anyone up, just curious. Thanks for the input. By the by, hope you are feelin' better!

defender, Like I said...I'm not political anymore...Clinton, Bush...neither one was good for this country.++++And the "New patriotism" and money-making war-based economy will both fall into dis-favor with the people of this country, if they really care about the young, who are the future of this country...when those BODY BAGS with our young men and fighting women are marked..."ship to United States" marked on em start rollin in...I will really be interested to see how patriotic folks who are supporting the rediculous war will react then? The first BODY BAG or coffin that gets shipped home with one of our military personnel in it should make us re-think all this revenge dealy and why we are so hated world-wide in the first place. J. The Bush family and Clinton have been friends for years...some folks don't know this...so perhaps nothing has changed, except the faces and techniques as far as our political scene goes. Maybe everything that is transpiring is all part of the same plan. And yes, that Masonic Bible dealy is absolutely true and troubling to me, anyway.

While we are at it...what's with this October 12th deal where all the kids nationwide say the pledge to the flag at a set time? Sounds good on the surface, but strikes me as a little odd. If I were Usama...guess I'll keep quiet. Don't need to give him any ideas.

Only Dubya knows what's in his heart. Those of us who pray need to pray for his soul. And all of the world leaders. Even though there are many things from his past that point in the direction of evil, he may have changed his ways, (or still can). I think everyone is equal in the eyes of God.
I felt like after 911, the different religous gatherings had a very homogonized feeling to them. Yes I think that people of all faiths can unite and get along, but it feels like we are being pulled in to a one world religion.

Come on guys, G. W. has changed since college? He must have just had some revelation recently since he was sworn in on a masonic bible less than a year ago. I still see he lives in the ranch under the oaks. He hasn't denounced this affiliation with the skull and bones and repented like a TRUE christian would! I even heard he was a bonesmen on the RADIO of all places last week. Not to quote Rodney King, but "Can't we all just get along." The answer is no, hell no. It would be nice, but the religions will never see eye to eye, thats the way it is. The one world religion being formed is not of Christ, it is pure anti-christ. Why do you think they are trying to start a "holy war" between Muslums and "Christians". There's only one word we should say to Bush, that is repent. Since i'm sure to get flamed for this already, i'll add this. God Bless America.. please. Why would God bless a country that mass murders babies, kicked him out of schools, engages in child pornography, need I go on.. All these things will be answered for, and it seems like that day isn't too far off. You just have to ask yourself if you're going to be on the recieving end of the wrath or of the joy. Despite what all these "men of God" say, he is not one giant teddy bear is heaven. In closing, please don't think the picture below is the "W" sign..

Hey FLKook, thanx for the edit! It was getting late and I was having a hard time with words  And Cougar, I don't mean to say that he HAS changed since college, just that he has the free will to do so. I don't know him, and even if I did I cannot judge his SOUL. I am bery wary of the "blending" of religion that is happening now. I'm not even comfortable with any organized religion, at all.

Wow! Seems like we are a diverse bunch with many different opinions, but then that’s what makes us a “free” country. Just a little extra about GB…when he was speaking in the Cathedral, I had the weirdest feeling. What came to mind was the scene from the move “The Godfather” where Al Pacino is becoming godfather to his sister’s baby. He’s renouncing Satan while his guys are out wreaking havoc on his rivals. I hated myself for feeling that. I WANT to be wrong on this one.Cougar, I’m not sure I understand what you mean when you say anyone can read the Bible. By the same token, anyone can read the conspiracy theories or listen to the talk shows. The Bible has been right so far. I can’t say the same for some of the theories I’ve read or heard. Think I’ll stick with the Bible, but keep my eyes and ears open as well. Guess we should pray that our leaders are what they should be, or, if they aren’t, God will remove them from power. As for God’s blessing on our nation, I agree we don’t deserve it, but we sure could use it now. Like Usama, we haven’t been true to our faith. We’ve changed it around so we can justify whatever WE want to do. We think God’s rules are old-fashioned so we have created our own. We’re arrogant and greedy and disliked in most of the world. I’ve seen a lot of patriotism since 9/11 but not much repentance. Have you read the “Take a Last Look Around” thread? Don’t know about the source, but taking a look around is probably a good idea. I think we are rapidly running out of “rope”. Kiss and make up, guys. We’re all in this together.

Since the hard line Islamic people cannot stand nudity and consider it a sin to see a naked woman that is not their wife, tonight at 7:00 all women should run our of their house naked to help weed out the terrorists! Just wondering...J.Could it be that Kissingers lovely words some years back about a NWO will be coming back to haunt us all soon?

What is this dealy about all the kids having to recite the Pledge of Allegiance on a specific day???Even if God is allowed mentioned in it...what difference does it make if it is being used like a NWO "brainwashing' type occurrence to be done on command? HMMM....J.

FLKook, I'm with you...I agree...We should just all love each other every single day, no matter what...why does religion, politics, and sex have to enter into things and spoil everything! I love ya'll too!!! But just judging from the last few days of political and religion posts, I can see exactly how "religious wars" come about...when all of a sudden, love and tolerant feelings go out the window in the name of defending a religion or a politician....perfect example right at this board as to how things work for the most part, in the real world, unfortunately. Love ya all. Arlene, I will have those pictures of clouds for you...I have over a thousand pics to sort thru, but I'll find some and get them to you, I promise.....Your hubby and mine would get along great...Mine says "Kill em all and let God sort em out" all the time!! I saw it, it boggles the mind how one can lie so much, and so many can buy it. The whole damn plan was outlined, get a clue America. Or just sit there, wave your flag, and let the govt. protect you and see how long you're gonna last. Get right with God, because we're screwed. Only he will get you through. Oh, just a side note... what a better way for a "christian" to represent a christian nation than in a catholic cathedral.
