During the night I woke up for about five minutes, just long enough to hear on Art Bell's show a man speaking about the fact that NASA is planning to move the whole earth further away from the sun. The purpose is to combat global warning, then when the temperature is to suit their fancy, they will move the earth back again. No, I havn't gone mad. Did anyone else hear this and could you elaborate????? Wouldn't it be easier to give up fossil fuels, and turn to already invented alternative energy sources???

All that is required is for a large asteroid, about 100 km (62 miles) across, to fly past the Earth transferring some of its orbital energy to our planet.... But it would be a procedure that required some care. If the 100 km asteroid was to collide with the Earth then it would wipe out all life on our planet. "This danger cannot be overemphasised," the researchers stress.
