Thermit,You've got a great site here and I applaud your patience, but isn't it about time you quit letting these flame wars monopolize your board? I'll admit they are sometimes entertaining, but things seem to be getting progressively vicious. Guess I just fail to see the point of all the name-calling and the obsession with having the last word. If you don't like what someone says, why not just ignore them? If you don't feed the bad wolf...well, you get my drift. Keep up the good work! Scanner

Yes, Scanner, I'm quite disappointed that TopGun/Maverick has deemed it necessary to revive a very old thread just to attack our moderator, and other members. TopGun used to provide some useful information, even during onslaughts of attacks, with patience and a calm demeanor. Now his patience and calm are gone. I can understand that, and I don't agree with verbal attacks on anybody, but now he is essentially a troll. And with and the flamewars he has inspired and now, the repeated threats of violence that he has initiated, he's gone a bit to far, let's just consider it over...

Scanner, When someone totally fabricates something about you with outright bold-faced(lies, how can you not respond? There are new members and visitors who come in and read this stuff, they will be influenced by everything they read in regards to that member's posting, which is the goal of the 'debunkers' when they resort to mud-slinging and lies. I agree that it's a drag. It's time-consuming at the very least. But what would you do if someone accused you of something like, being anti-Christian or more specifically, anti-Luthern, or a Nazi for the apparent purpose of attacking your credibility, (not to mention your character). I consider myself a Christian, but I don't agree with turning the other cheek. If you disagree with a members contributions like links to pertinent websites, why not attack the information presented on it's own merits. Don't attack the messenger.

Thanks for your response Thermit and Defender. Defender, I understand your concern about defending yourself against unthruthful attacks, but as far as the newbies go, I think the flaming is probably a turn-off for them. I think they are intelligent enough to figure out for themselves who is real and who is a poser without all of the rhetoric. As far as posting differing opinions or disagreeing with someone else’s conclusions, that’s what the board is for. But when it starts to get personal and hurtful, then it’s gone too far. Maybe what we need is a thread called “The Black Hole” to dump all of the nasty stuff in with a disclaimer that you enter at your own risk! Just kiddin’. ScannerP.S. Looks like you're about to hit 600 members Thermit. Congratulations in advance!

Therm,I'm not defending anyone. I don't even know TopGun, but he's not the only one engaging in flaming. I think laying the blame evenly is in order. Defender, I understand the desire to defend yourself, and I know the feeling. However, you don't know these people and they don't know you. And chances are you will not get the opportunity to meet them. Since the only impression of you people on the boards gets comes from what you say, flaming just doesn't seem to be in your best interest. Scanner, I couldn't agree more. Enough with the flaming. It's childish bull. Just a thought. TXP
