Lets see...CME's (we're getting hit by one as I write), big increase in potentially hazardous objects listed by NASA (386 to 411), Navy says the Artic is melting...not to mention the ozone hole increase there, Antartica is busy shedding huge amounts of ice, there's another comet coming in to join the one already visable, we have a huge "black water" area approaching the Gulf of Mexico...Seems like a lot going on all at once. What's going on?Scanner

Good Question Scanner. Kind of makes you wonder what this is all leading up to and what we'll wake up to in the morning. Kind of suspicious how that ice shelf "shattered" though isn't it?

I don't know what the hell is going on anymore Scanner, but pretty soon I might head down to your neck of the woods if things get any worse. I got an older brother down in ST Rose that I haven't seen in a while and would like to do it before the chems take their toll or we start glowing in the dark.

How many people are feeling an urgency to travel, and do it NOW, before 'its too late'? I have been feeling that like Crazy! SO much so, that I leave for New Mexico in a few weeks to spend much of April with my sister, down by the mexican border. I am going to fulfill my desires to see the desert in bloom and meditate with the coyotes and scorpions, and go buy those mexican blankets and ponchos I've wanted to for so long now. Then,, when I come back, it won't be long before I head out to the mountains in New York with the kids to do some camping and herkimer diamond mining I've been promising them I would do. Reservations are all made, because I have to do this NOW! I can't afford all this, but I have to DO IT NOW. And boy, come hell or high water, I am going to do what I want to do,, before I "can't" anymore.

Good on you, KnewEyes!...and you're picking the right time, too. the next two or three weeks should see the peak of the desert ephemeral (quick-bloom, then gone) flowers. I'm afraid it won't be quite as stunning as it was in the Sonoran Desert last year, because of the lower rainfall in the winter, but you ought to see a bunch of good stuff. If you're in the western part of NM, you might want to think about crossing the border to God's Country and visiting Saguaro National Monument or the Chiricahua Mountains southeast of Tucson. Here's a preview of what you might see.... http://members7.clubphoto.com/duncan467853/515129/guest.phtml Regards, ------------------ Duncan Kunz / duncankunz@cox.net Mesa AZ / 480-891-2525

Wow Duncan,, Thank-you! The photography is beautiful and exactly what I've been looking for these days. I told my sister to go to the library and have lots of books with good photographs of the fauna and flora of the area handy for me when I arrive, as I don't want to be lugging a library around.I WILL be in the southwest area, near the Texas-New Mexico-Mexico border, and my sisters giving me her little camper-truck while I am there, and since I am so close to Arizona (where I REALLY want to be,lol) I just may head out that way So, I finally see the face behind the man. You have eyes exactly like my good friend ex-beau. I see that you have 3 whites showing in your eyes, meaning there is white showing on both sides and also underneath the iris of your eyes. It's pretty rare to have 3 whites showing. Physiognomy-wise, that means: You are extremely sensitive, and may be a thought-provoking writer , or philosopher. Sometimes able to sense things before they happen. But also accident prone, so take care to heed those premonitions, even in everyday situations, such as crossing a busy road (no pun intended, thats what the book says!) or climbing a ladder. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks for the link Duncan.

Yeah, I definitely have the urge to travel and a native holy man told me not long ago that the mountains call me and I'd be a crazy to stay where I am. But I feel that the time is not right yet and that I was put here for a purpose that has not yet revealed itself to me, so I will fight that urge as long as I can. I must add that I know of native sacred sites that were long ago forgotten here and the call to stay is stronger than the call to leave. Since I am only part native, I must follow my heart and not my instincts. My heart tells me to stay and my instincts tell me to head for the hills.

It's not easy being Heyoka, huh Dan? Always being pulled in opposite directions. I know exactly what you mean tho about staying around here. There is something about "here" keeping me in this area I really don't want to be in. It's my heart thats keeping me here too, while my instinct is telling me to head for the hills. I am hoping the time I take away from this area will give me the answers I have been waiting for all my life, that have not yet been revealed to me. Answers that I know are going to be given.. someday. Hopefully soon!

To all:Anytime any of you find yourselves in the Salt River Valley (Phoenix-Scottsdale-Mesa-Tempe-Glendale-gilbert-Chandler-Apache Junction or anywhere else), call me at 480-891-2525! At the least we can get together for coffee and a munchie (on me); if I have enough lead time, I'd be happy to show you around, especially the East Valley. It do get purty here! Duncan

Yeah KnewEyes, definitely not easy being Heyoka and not easy leaving behind a 300+ acre ceremonial/funeral complex, especially after studying it for almost 10 years and learning something new about it every day. And learning something new about myself too. My Lakota friends saw the work that I was doing there a few years ago and all agreed that I was definitely Heyoka. I spent a good part of the day out there today documenting solar allignments and taking pictures of something else besides trails. Duncan, I might take you up on that offer one of these days and I'll be sure to bring my guitar with me so we can play some bluegrass.

I say to Scanner and roman... Go ahead, just do it! Make some plans and go while the goings good! It'll bring some peace into your heart Duncan, looking at the map here, I can see the areas you are speaking of will be a bit too far into Arizona for me to travel while I am down there. I would be hanging around in the extreme SE area IF I do venture out that way. Your offer of tour guide and coffee chat to anyone on this board is most gracious, and very nice of you, also. You play guitar? Lot of musicians on this board. I am a singer myself and plan on letting loose in the big expanse out there, with cactus as my audience ,lol. Dan,(another musician) have you had the the Thunderbeing dream?

KnewEyes, I kind of think a lot of us here have had that dream. I didn't know for sure till 98 when an elderly gentleman who knew of the old ways looked into my eyes and told me that I had encountered the TB's. That was the first time that I heard the word Heyoka. My Lakota friends, after learning of this encounter, had to agree with him. They could find no other explanation as to how I could locate so many sites in places where they had searched and found nothing and could enter areas where they were afraid to walk. Well anyway, both Duncan and I are musicians. I know he plays guitar, but I think I've got him beat. - lol - I play guitar, accordian, piano and drums, but am playing around with the mandolin, mountain dulcimer, bass and any other stringed instruments that I can get my hands on. - Oh yeah, I sing too.

Another reason that you were called Heyoka, Dan, is that you challenged the outdated, biased, established archaeological paradigm and basically defeated it.I too have the urge to relocate, but also being part native, I have a greater urge to stay where I am. That park is a creepy place sometimes and I remember that time when Dan and his friends took me out to one of the sites. - I suddenly got this really weird feeling and started getting nervous and told him about it. He looked down at my feet and nudged his friends and Dan told me to move away from the spot I was standing on. I did as he said and felt much better. He then said that I was standing on a spot where no one was permitted to stand and they all burst out laughing. That was my introduction to pinpoint magnetic anomalies.

Dear Dan:If you have a high-speed connection (DSL or cable) I'll send you some MP3's (about 3-3.5 Mb each) from our band's first CD. If you don't, I'll still send a couple, but they might take a while to download! duncankunz@cox.net or duncan.z.kunz@boeing.com

Well Krissa and Dan, sounds like you have some interesting walks in the woods around here. Thats wonderful that you are so in tune with the land you overseer Dan, and that you are aware of the grid(?) energy on it. Yes I think you are right that there are alot of Heyoka on this board, and just plain on earth at this time, period. We are living in some wild times right now... and I believe we all chose to be here, living at this turning point in history.

Duncan, thanks. I just sent you an email. BTW, I took a look at your pictures and that's some beautiful plant life and those are some really cool pictures.KnewEyes, yeah we've got a lot of sites here in areas that were never touched by colonial farmers, especially the park. I just had a historian, a native expert and a geologist out there last week and all 3 agree with my findings. - I know all about the energy and sometimes like to see if anyone can feel it. Two of the sites with the most noticible anomalies are not seen on the normal tour for various reasons, but I couldn't resist taking Krissa to that one site.

I have to admit it,Duncan, those are some beautiful pictures. Now that's kind of scary. - LOL - Both Dan and Duncan are musicians and photographers. Though Dan mostly uses cheap digital equipment now, he has taken some beautiful film shots too. Dan took a real good one of this beautiful kettle hole glacial erratic in the middle of a field once. It was surrounded by a whole bunch of different species of wild flowers in full bloom with a large boulder at one end of it with a father and his young son sitting on top of the boulder. It was the most beautiful picture that I've ever seen.

Krissa, though I had a limited amount of film to work with, I couldn't resist taking that one shot. Luckily I had enough film to take pictures of what I went there to photograph in the first place.Duncan, now that's what I call some real good bluegrass. Thanks for sending the songs to me. BTW, I'm listening to Nellie Kane right now. I just love those chord progressions as well as the picking. I've picked up on the D, G and A chords, but what's that other chord?
