That's a big satellite (50 m dia, according to the guy who saw it)!As soon as I saw the term 'spy satellite', I immediately thought about the keyhole series (KH-11, in this case); but KH is nowhere near 50 m in diameter. 50 feet maybe, along its longest axis, but that's a big difference. If it were an Advanced Crystal (the one that used to be called KH-12 or Improved KH-11) it could be bigger, but not that much. I don't think the PRC has the capability to put anything that size into orbit, so my guess is that it's probably an American Keyhole or Advanced Crystal, but the size estimate has to be off by at least a factor of three. Just my opinion, FWIW.... ------------------ Duncan Kunz / duncankunz@cox.net Mesa AZ / 480-891-2525

Assembled in orbit? Now there's a thought...anything to back that up or is it just a guess? Since the report came from Japan, maybe it lost something in the translation. I'm sure none of us would be surprised if there's something up there TPTB didn't tell us about, but it's spooky to think something that big could go unnoticed. Stranger and stranger...Scanner

Scanner, I doubt it. The PRC hasn't even put its first individual in space yet, and the Russian Progress doesn't have much capability to have guys pull out pieces of stuff, go outside, bolt them together, etc., then fly back and get more. The only way you can assemble stuff in space with any sort of cost-effectivity at all is via the Shuttle, and their launches and operations have been so publicized that any construction project they would do outside of the ISS would be known throughout the industry. Of course, they have done military satellite missions, but there's a big difference between popping out a classified KH11 from the cargo bay and bringing the construction workers along. DUNCAN, I'M GLAD YOU MADE YOUR COMMENTS, BECAUSE now proof positive of your lies exists in everyones memory...many shuttle missions have been classified military missions under the "star wars" intiative, as everyone on this board knows, and things were assembled in space which were not publicised at all.(the definition of classified is??) you are, as I have stated many times before, incapable of truth. And by the way Duncan,if the ruskies cant put together space stations, how did they assemble MIR??I'm waiting for your relie....I mean reply

Jeez, Bob. I appreciate your input, but does every thread have to turn into a flame war? Everyone is entitled to an opinion just as everyone is entitled to agree or disagree. I think our readers are intelligent enough to separate the bull stuff from the real thing. People are going to begin to think you are the "agent" and I am a troublemaker for asking questions and provoking torch sessions. Thanks for not including the four letter words though. I dunno what to think about this satellite report. I'd like to see something show up from another source. I know! It's the Mother Ship! Hey guys...you're a little late! Those Heaven's Gate folks assumed room temperature and left their earthly containers a couple of years ago! Scanner

Oh, I have another question...wonder just how long this big guy has been up there? Or is is recent? If anyone finds anything further on this, please post. Scanner

I have been edited,ok, I can except that.As an amatuer journalist in college,I discovered what "edit" actually meant, if you catch my drift. What you are worried about is your image as a respectable forum, correct? How, praytell, have I offended this desire of yours,3t3l1?? BY sticking my neck way out for you all and exposing the truth?By exposing myself to ridicule and then being chastized for replying in kind, in my own fashion? BY making myself a target for every purveyor of disinformation and plain ass bs??Well, Ive said before, and I'll say it again, the actual intelectual community (as it were!!) knows whats going on and why, which leads me to believe most of you do also, so why all the bs??the mystery is solved as far as I am concerned

censuring my feelings will not make you more respectable in the minds of anyone who matters or is sympathetic to our cause,on the contrary, you will lose respect. No one likes to be censured, and no one wants others to be who seeks an ulimate conclusion to any debate. My feelings are relavant, if not to you, then to me...censureship is always wrong,it's a chicken%$#^ approach!
