For the second time this month, Army officials have found evidence of an accidental release of anthrax spores in an Army biodefense research building in Frederick, this one involving a different and relatively benign strain of the microbe.
The Army emphasized yesterday that no military researchers had fallen ill from the apparent lapses, and it offered reassurance that the public was not at risk. But an Army official also acknowledged that the discovery, which a university anthrax researcher yesterday called "highly embarrassing," indicated a failure to follow safety protocols at the high-security lab. The Army's handling of the problem also drew criticism from political leaders and the director of a company that does laundry for the lab, who said the Army did a poor job of communicating with the firm after it appeared that the biowarfare bacteria might have spread to the off-base laundry.

Why am I not surprised by this? - We've already got enough problems here with the West Nile Virus that was probably accidentally released too and now we've got to worry about them accidentally releasing Anthrax.

Bad Business.That area south fo Frederick, starting at Gaithersburg and going further through Rockville and Bethesda/Chevy Chase, is a hotbed of defense and government facilities. Who knows? They might end up wiping themselves out.... ------------------

Propaganda.We are like puppets dancing on a string when we react to this stuff. It's a careful media manipulation to promote public anxiety, just like their almost weekly 'unconfirmed' reports of possible attack. If they didn't want this information to get out, we would never hear about it. They are probably just setting up how some 'contractor' could have gotten out some anthrax and sent it around in the postal service. The sequence of events is carefully planned. Just my hunch, of course it's 'unconfirmed'.

I'm with you Nirvana, its all a load of hooey. The truth is all between the lines.
The whole yellow alert thing makes me mad. Do you notice that Ridge put the country at level yellow and it always stays at yellow? Yellow is where they want us. Uncertain of how much danger but certain there is danger. Don't go getting comfortable America, could be a dirty bomb any second. We don't want to alarm you that something could happen and put the alert at Orange,(then the military will come and take over for the police) but we have a threat from a terrorist who is locked up with no hope of being a terrorist except every threat he comes up with is spread throughout the papers and everything that happens has to be examined for possible terrorist involvement. Everytime an explosion happens or a rash occurs we have to think that it is possibly a terrorist attack. But remember, yellow to Ridge means he can go play golf. America should equate yellow with playtime not fear.Colors are for painting lovely pictures.
This anthrax leakage stuff is stupid. Well we did find anthrax but it hasn't made anyone sick....What is that about? Is it completely fake and they are just laying out some information that they can quote later as if it is true because it can be quoted from the newspaper? Just to make it look like some inept person was handling anthrax and not the highly capable individual who it really is? Who is fooled? Not me and not you. Yargh, I'm mad.

I share your frustration Hooligan...Yes, I notice about the yellow alert, etc. It's all part of the plan to break us down and make us say "Somebody has got to do something about this!", thus to give away our rights. If you want to understand the underlying techniques and mechanics of the human nervous system and how brainwashing works in detail, I suggest reading "Battle for the Mind" by William Sargant. This talks about Pavlov's Dogs, Evangelists, Psychiatrists, Politicians, and much more. These are the techniques they are using on us to make us docile and they date back to the 1600’s and beyond. They make us just want the problems to go away. Ever notice how Bush talks about the terrorist threat every chance he gets? Reinforcement... The trauma and fear is already ingrained in our nervous system from 9/11 and the anthrax attacks. All they have to do is say, “boo” and we jump. It reminds me of how a table shake due to a truck passing by could bring a reaction after a major earthquake others and I lived through years ago. Pavlov’s dogs barely lived through a flood that almost drowned them in their cages. Later after that, they would yelp in fear when just a trickle of water happened to come under the door. Collectively, are we any different now days??
