I'm banned from there, so I can't comment. But I noticed that poate pulled that AD garbage on you. This is what I'd respond by saying:poate said-
"Information is what I posted or pasted if that makes you feel better. Information that is relevant to the thread on thruster reversal in flight."
And I'd say-
Information on the AD posted above is NOT relevant in regards to AA587 for the following reasons:
"Transmitted as follows is emergency airworthiness directive (AD) 2002-08-51, for the attention of all owners and operators of Airbus Model A300 B2 and B4 series airplanes equipped with General Electric CF6-50 engines"
American Airlines owns Airbus A300-B4-600 series aircraft equipped with the GE CF6-80C2A5 engines, which are a later generation of the older CF6-50 engines.
"NOTE 1: Airbus Model A300 B4-600 series airplanes (commonly referred to as 'A300-600 series airplanes') are not affected by this AD."
Again, even the FAA has issued a note saying that the type of aircraft used by American is not affected by the AD, because they do not share the same engines.
Furthermore, the AD doesn't even provide any proof of the original charge against the NTSB...that they were covering up sabotage to a thrust reverser system. The AD covers uncommanded thrust reverser actuations in flight, totally unrelated anyways, even if we were talking about the same engines.
