Found this interesting research done by a student of conspiracies and mysteries... quote:
Since way back in 1995 Mars-face enthusiast and conspiracy theorist Richard Hoagland (author of 'The Monuments of Mars' and others) has been displaying an interesting multispectral mosaic image of the Moon taken by the joint NASA/NRL spacecraft 'Clementine'.
