Jits, Is that Phil Keaggy from Glass Harp, The Christian Rock group? I saw them in New York in '71. It was very ethereal space rock, and they played with another 3 piece, called Clouds.

The Man!!!! Keith Emerson! Take a Pebble!!!!!! That ELP plays the living crap out the instruments. Like no one..... Met Emerson once in NJ..Very polite, petite, and friendly..Unlike Chick Corea..a real prick. Seeker, I played in a Doors tribute band in LA in the early 80's called Strange Daze. Motley Crue was with the same management team, so we were playing the same places. We actually played the same gig once, with them opening up for us, Wolf and Rissmillers Country Club in Reseda. I'll have to tell you about opening for UFO and Molly Hatchet in Phoenix Coliseum another time...Gotta go and watch my niece and nephew.

Never got to see ELP together. Only fragmented..(always playing with someone else). Emerson is right up there with Rick Wakeman though.I don't think any other keyboard player is a unique as Emerson though.They're definately on the list one of the most underated bands.

this started as a serious discussion of the use of the internet to get some truth past the media's filters. Enough "Don't worry be happy" with meaningful lyrics thrown in for those who want to continue sidetracking the discussion.For the others out there who either have a bad memory, or were too young to live through time like these. I was Nixon volunteer in 1968 & personally knew the guys who burned the Nixon campaign HQ in Phx the day before Nixon gave his first famous "Law & Order" speech. The HQ had just been piled high with newspapers and campaign literature, cans of "spare gas" for campaign workers cars were sitting beside a desk, behind the plate glass window. Each young Republican involved got paid one one hundred dollar bill. (brand new, with consecutive serial numbers) Nixon used the incident as an example of how Liberals have no respect for Law & Order. No Democrats were involved. Orders were given by- and coverup conducted by- Nixon campaign honchos. I've believed in conspiracies ever since. ____________________ October 8, 1971: Nixon, Ehrlichman, and Richard Helms, 10:58 A.M-12:12 P.M., Oval Office Conversation #587-7; cassette #1251 >Nixon: Now, when you get into the dirty tricks department. . . what you're probably really concerned about. . . . and I well understand. I know what happened in Iran. And I also know what happened in Guatemala. Helms: Sure. Nixon: And I totally approved of both. And I also know what happened in the planning of the Bay of Pigs under Eisenhower - I totally approved of it. Nixon: . . And we've done a lot of things - you know, about the Menu stuff. You know about, uh, the things that we've tried. . . Nixon: Listen, I've done more than my share of lying protection . I believe it's totally right to do it. . .Second, I believe in dirty tricks. I think you've got to do it < Anthony Summers, "The Arrogance of Power: The Secret World of Richard Nixon", p.332-333 _________________ There are many truths of which the full meaning cannot be realized until personal experience has brought it home.--John Stuart Mill --------------------------- After the 1967 Montery Pops concert, all others were just minor events with a very few performers. Or a similar out of control government trampling on our liberty while staging faked 'terror' events to distract us? Blame Clinton also if you want, Johnson had a hand in developing Nixon's nightmarish police state too. (Gulf of Tonkin- was clearly "Northwoods" for example) If you don't believe in conspiracies you have no knowlege of history. From the world's First Rap Song "Subterranean Homesick Blues" Bob Dylan visit link for whole song: http://www.slopbucket.com/bob/lyrics/5subter.html >I'm on the pavement Thinking about the government The man in the trench coat Badge out, laid off Says he's got a bad cough Wants to get it paid off Look out kid It's somethin' you did God knows when But you're doin' it again< >Keep a clean nose Watch the plain clothes You don't need a weather man To know which way the wind blows< >Look out kid They keep it all hid< In memoriam to members of the Weather Underground who vanished without a trace, July 4, 1976; (run over by a Ford) while all US media focused attention on a small airport in Uganda. If you don't believe in conspiracies you have no knowlege of history. People on the internet have just successfully helped President Chirac and President Putin to stand up to the bully on the block and say NO to Bush's "Poland"(Iraq). They sat back as Bush's "Czechslovakia"(Afghanistan)campaign took place. Because of the internet, even Americans are beginning to ask: "Since Saudis hijacked airplanes on 9/11; why aren't we attacking Saudi Arabia? Because of the internet, people are aware that Bush the first used falsified "evidence" to justify the first Gulf War. (the one that inspired the movie "Wag the Dog") http://foi.missouri.edu/polinfoprop/nocasusbelli.html 1990 Wag the Gulf One: >By the early weeks of September, America and Britain were leading the march towards war. Somehow, almost without anybody noticing, the agenda was changing. Iraqi withdrawal from Kuwait alone was no longer acceptable. New resolutions had been adopted by the UN security council The photographs, which are still classified in the US (for security reasons, according to Brent Scowcroft, President Bush senior's national security advisor), purportedly showed more than a quarter of a million Iraqi troops massed on the Saudi border poised to pounce. Except, when a resourceful Florida-based reporter at the St Petersburg Times persuaded her newspaper to buy the same independently commissioned satellite photos from a commercial satellite to verify the Pentagon's line, she saw no sign of a quarter of a million troops or their tanks. < and that recent "evidence" was also faked, yet the Administration does an encore: http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/11/30/1038386358602.html >Bin Laden terror tape a fake, say experts By Brian Whitaker December 1 2002 The Sun-Herald Scientists in Switzerland say they believe that a recent audio tape attributed to terrorist leader Osama bin Laden is probably a fake. The tape, delivered to the Arab satellite television channel al-Jazeera a few weeks ago, appeared to provide the first concrete evidence that bin Laden was still alive because it mentioned recent attacks on Western targets. Prime Minister John Howard said US intelligence had determined that the voice on the broadcast was that of bin Laden. The message implied that the Bali bombings were targeted against Australians and had been planned to exact revenge for Australia's "anti-Muslim" involvement in East Timor and Afghanistan. "The authenticity is certainly questionable, there is doubt," said Professor Herve Bourlard, head of Swiss voice research institute IDIAP. The institute, which uses computerised statistical models, compared 90 minutes of known recordings of bin Laden's voice with the new tape which was first aired by the al-Jazeera station.<
You won't hear the truth on your evening news. {edit inclusion} A radio announcer just related that the orange alert was based on "a sick lie" by an Al Queda prisoner. Who aparrently stopped the torture by telling them (US Gov) what they wanted to hear.

I know the Gulf of Tonkin incident was a faked attack on US Navy vessels, which never occurred. (Northwoods scenario) I know what JFK RFK Martin Luther King and George Wallace did. They got between Nixon and the White House, and in front of somebody's cross hairs.You ignore that the "Dixiecrats", the most unscroupulous southern bigot Democrats were driven out of that party by Civil Rights. Many of them gained influence in Nixon's GOP and became leaders. (Strom Thurmond, Phil Gramm, John Tower, who then turned that party just as corrupt as the one they left. I accept that Democrats are still corrupt. Otherwise they could have passed "Nixon's Health Insurance For All Americans" plan; (Which Hillary dusted off and put her hubby's name on the cover of.) The difference today is that sans (my-man-Slick) Democrats have no leader, and they never did lock step to the orders of leaders like Republicans do. Someone asked Will Rogers: "Do you belong to any organized political party?" He answered, quite truthfully: "Hell no. I'm a Democrat!" Democrats voted overwhelmingly for Bush's unconstitutional USA Patriot Act. Only a few like Senator Dorgan opposed it. what were Democrats doing during the Nixon monster years? Either going along with Nixon or dying. Deja vu: “I DON'T KNOW WHETHER I WAS TARGETED, BUT I certainly know that human rights activists are targeted,”“It’s a small story that tells the larger story of what’s happening..." THE LATE SENATOR PAUL WELLSTONE commenting on reports that he was the target of an assassination attempt in December 2000. "tinfoil hat" coincidence theorists should face reality- In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happened, you can bet it was planned that way. Franklin Delano Roosevelt {edit to correct spelling errors eg: "th e"/"the"}

FLKook, oh yeah, I've seen Audio Adrenaline and the Newsboys in concert too! I used to do work for Carmen Ministries, so I've worked with and met a lot of Christian artists... Speaking of interesting lyrics, check this out. Mike and Mechanics Silent Running (Rutherford/Robertson) Take the children and yourself And hide out in the cellar By now the fighting will be close at hand Don't believe the church and state And everything they tell you Believe in me, I'm with the high command Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? There's a gun and ammunition Just inside the doorway Use it only in emergency Better you should pray to God The Father and the Spirit Will guide you and protect from up here Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Swear allegiance to the flag Whatever flag they offer Never hint at what you really feel Teach the children quietly For some day sons and daughters Will rise up and fight while we stood still Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me running (can you hear me calling you?) (Can you hear me) hear me calling you? (Can you hear me running) hear me running babe? (Can you hear me running) hear me running? Calling you, calling you Interesting isn't it? This part, "Teach the children quietly For some day sons and daughters Will rise up and fight while we stood still," at least the "stood still" parts describes perfectly the state we're in today... Anyway, I'm sure many of you know this song, just thought it was interesting. It was on their 1985 album and on top of that, the song was a huge hit, but I guess nobody really listened to it? Jits

My band just did a cd and Brian Forsythe who used to be the guitar player in the 80s metal band KIX wassetting it all up. I could've went somewhere with my music but I woulda had to sacrifice alot to do so.

Shatoga, Ah, someone else who actually was there. Saw Steppenwolf many times, but I remember the first time in Phoenix 1969, playing "Monster" for the first time. The lyrics are MORE relatable now than ever. I work for a MAJOR chip manufacturer, you guess the name, in the multimedia dept. We use all 2x processor Macs, running OSX. No TCPA/Palldium, no crashes, so when I have an audio and video file both rendering, I can check the web. Steve Jobs said adamently that Macs and Linux will NOT run the Homeland Security back door DLL, that XP and W2000 run. I think it's called "adavpi.dll", or something similar. Got thst straight from the IT dept. There's even talk of an alternative WWW. Look up TCPA/PALLADIUM to see the awful truth. So screw Gates , his surveillence, and his inferior products.
http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/tcpa-faq.html Prof, You still play? Believe me, pick it up at least once a week. It'll haunt you twenty years from now.

/ E - A - / / / / E D A C / There's battle lines being drawn Nobody's right if everybody's wrong Young people speaking their minds Getting so much resistance from behind I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down What a field-day for the heat A thousand people in the street Singing songs and carrying signs Mostly say, hooray for our side It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down Paranoia strikes deep Into your life it will creep It starts when you're always afraid You step out of line, the man come and take you away We better stop, hey, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down Stop, hey, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down Stop, now, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down Stop, children, what's that sound Everybody look what's going down < "That sound" was the sound of guns, as National Guardsmen murdered anti-war protestors http://www.spectacle.org/595/kent.html >Kent State, May 4, 1970: America Kills Its Children< >The first day, there was some brutality; the Guard bayonetted two men, one a disabled veteran, who had cursed or yelled at them from cars. The following day, May 4th, the Guard, commanded with an amazing lack of military judgment, marched down a hill, to a field in the middle of angry demonstrators, then back up again. Seconds before they would have passed around the corner of a large building, and out of sight of the crowd, many of the Guardsmen wheeled and fired directly into the students, hitting thirteen, killing four of them, pulling the trigger over and over, for thirteen seconds. (Count out loud--one Mississippi, two Mississippi, to see how long this is.) Guardsmen--none of whom were later punished, civilly, administratively, or criminally--admitted firing at specific unarmed targets; one man shot a demonstrator who was giving him the finger. The closest student shot was fully sixty feet away; all but one were more than 100 feet away; all but two were more than 200 feet away. One of the dead was 255 feet away; the rest were 300 to 400 feet away. The most distant student shot was more than 700 feet from the Guardsmen. < http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2003/05/1607707.php http://www.nioncleveland.org/youth/LongLivetheSpiritofKentandJacksonState.pdf What were the Democrats doing? divided as always/ bickering amongst themselves/ as always. >The 1970 campaign was waged against a background of great political turbulence, as the Democratic Party, the state, and the nation were rocked by deep and bitter divisions over the increasingly unpopular Vietnam War. The divisiveness frequently spilled over into street protests in Seattle and across the country, reaching a crescendo in May following President Richard M. Nixon’s (1913-1994) announcement that the U.S. military would enter Cambodia. The Cambodia incursion triggered massive demonstrations, and the killings of four anti-war protestors at Kent State in Ohio and two demonstrators at Jackson State in Mississippi led to even greater protests.< http://www.washington.historylink.org/output.cfm?file_id=5585 And, as always, (IMHO) two dead black students at Jackson State get little mention, while four dead white students at Ohio State get top billing. And, as always, 'the band plays on' as history repeats... www.english.uiuc.edu/maps/vietnam/antiwar.html
