Too true."The money power preys upon the nation in times of peace and conspires against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, more selfish than bureaucracy. I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. Corporations have been enthroned, an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its REIGN by working upon the prejudices of the people until the wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed." President Abraham Lincoln after the National Banking Act of 1863 was passed

If you make between $10,500 and $26,625, you get no tax credit. This includes families with about 11.9 million children throughout the U.S. Many people in the area where I live earn wages in this category and they pay taxes.I don't know about other areas, but the local and state taxes in my area are sky-rocketing, to compensate for lost revenue. Revenue collecting has become the most prominent activity of the police force. Low-income families won't get a child credit From: New York Times May 29, 2003 WASHINGTON--A last-minute revision by House and Senate leaders in the tax bill that President Bush signed on Wednesday will prevent millions of minimum-wage families from getting the increased child credit that is in the measure, according to congressional officials and outside groups. Most taxpayers will get a $400-per-child check in the mail this summer as a result of the tax bill, which raises the child tax credit to $1,000 from $600. It had been clear from the beginning that the wealthiest families would not get this credit, which is designed to phase out at high incomes. But after studying the bill approved on Friday, several liberal and child-advocacy groups discovered that a different group of families will also not beneift from the $400 increase--families who make just above the minimum wage. Because of the formula for calculating the tax credit, most families with incomes between $10,500 and $26,625 will not benefit from the increased credit. The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a liberal research group, says those families include 11.9 million children, or one of every six children under the age of 16. "I don't know why they would cut that out of the bill," said Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., who persuaded the full Senate to send the credit to many more low-income families before the provision was dropped in conference. "These are the people who need it the most, and who will spend it the most."

I'm saving every dime I can and try to live as debt free as possible...I want to be prepared for the big economic crash/Bush Depression coming soon. It would be in the interest of all persons who don't believe the media's lies to do the same.

If the families of the 11.9 million children were to get a $400 additional credit per child, out of necessity they would probably spend it. If the purpose of this tax cut is to boost the ecomony, these families would have contributed approximately $4.76 billion to perk up the economy had they received the $400 child credit. As I said before, many families throughout the U.S. work and earn wages in the $10,500 to $26,625 range; and, even though they are known as the working poor, they do pay taxes.

the purpose of this tax cut is to give relief to those who pay taxes and boost the economy in the process...I don't see why anyone with a clear mind and a honest heart would want the government to have anymore of our hard earned money than is absolutely necessary for it's operation according to the constitution.... it makes no sense to me...

Why is it so hard for liberals to understand that a tax cut is what it says it is...a tax cut. If you don't pay taxes, then you don't get a cut? Geeez...it's not rocket science. We already have money for poor families...It's called welfare, and all it does is keep people in that situation. A tax cut is not welfare, it's giving people back money that they earn, money that was confiscated by the federal government. Oh...and I guess if you make over 26,000 you're rich, because you are going to get a tax cut...and we all know this is a " "tax cut for the rich". I guess liberals are defining anything over 26,000 as "rich" these days. Personally, I think that if these millionaire Democrats are so opposed giving people back more of the money that they earn, they should set an example and refuse to take their tax cuts...Heck, they should volunteer to pay MORE in taxes than everyone else. Nobody is stopping THEM from sending some more cash to the government. These millionaires in congress have no problem taking a tax cut and all the benefits and perks that go with being a senator or a congressman, but when it comes to giving a guy who grosses around 30K a year some of his money back, well oh no, we can't have that. He's rich and doesn't deserve a tax cut, because this is a tax cut for the rich...This is actually their argument! Exactly why liberal Democrats need to not be in power any more.
