Someone lower down the ladder always had to be blamed, up until Jim Jones ordered everyone to drink that kool-aid or be shot.

It was always the jealous husband's loss of faith at fault when Koresh had taken the wife.

It was disloyal soldiers who fell under the German assault against Russia.
Not Stalin's interference with his military commanders.

It was the generals who lost the war for herr Hitler.
Not the fault of herr Hitler for interfering with his general staff.

It WAS Al Gore's fault when his speechwriters wrote about prescription drug prices and got the details wrong.

Gore WAS, of course branded a liar for believing his staff had vetted the facts in the speech.

It WAS, of course Clinton's fault when he allowed Janet Reno to claim she had ordered the assault at WACO.

It WAS, of course Clinton's fault, when White House staffers fired corrupt kitchen staff along with uninvolved fellows they worked with.

"The President must be held to a higher standard." Damn near every Republican capable of speech said.

Now the shoe is on the other foot:

During the State Of The Union Speech,
when Bush quoted fabricated evidence to justify the invasion of Iraq;

No doubt, exactly like Al Gore,
Bush believed his staff had vetted the facts in his speech.
Unlike Gore, Bush gets a free pass, from the same people who called Gore a liar.

The buck never reaches Bush's desk!

It was the fault of British Intelligence,
then;
It was the fault of the CIA chief for not demanding his boss disregard reports the CIA did not themselves believe true,
then;
It became the fault of a White House staffer,
to be continued;
as everyone else takes the blame because:

This PResident is held to a lower standard than either Clinton or Gore was.

The buck stops anywhere but in the Oval Office!

No cult leader is ever at fault, no matter how wrong he may be,

someone lower down the ladder is always at fault.

A man who has never accepted responsibility for anything in his entire life,
gets a pass, from the hypocrites who used to say:

"The President must be held to a higher standard."
