But I wouldn't hold my breath. The OIl Cabal is not about to share it's spoils, nor the other businesses hovering like vultures to pick the bones clean. This administration didn't go to all the trouble of seeking and destroying Iraq's infrastructure just so other's could cash in. So in other words, I don't see U.S. troops going home anytime soon. If U.S. energy companies want the spoils, American Troops are going to be expected to pay the price, standing guard while the looters make good. Making the world safe for "capitalism", so to speak.

Perhaps there is a remote chance that the Bush Cabal might like a snapping turtle let go of the stick is has so beligerantly grabbed and that this trotting out of Saddam (or whoever) is a face saving
tactic to "let go" and leave the U.N. to cleanup. But I doubt it.

Americans who value truth might ask the following, while keeping in mind the endlessly deceptive noise coming from the Machine.

Is it really Saddam or one of his many "doubles"?
Was Saddam recently captured as reported or has he been "released" to be "captured" at a more politically expedient time?
Finally will Bush be able to give the "thumbs down" signal his ego so desperately craves as "Saddam" begs for his life? Perhaps Karl Rove could get together with Fox and make a mini series.

My experience with conspiracy theorists is yes, they DO believe everything is a conspiracy.

Have to love the whole Saddam-capture thing though. First it was, "We haven't captured OBL or even Saddam, and we haven't found WDM." Now that Saddam has been captured the response has changed to "Well, how do we know it's really him?" or "Actually they probably captured him a long time ago but just made it public now to get a boost in the polls" or "Ok, they got Saddam but where are the WMD?" or "They've already captured OBL but they're saving him for an October surprise before the election." It never ends...

I'm not a Bush fan, but the Bush critics will never be happy. Everything with Bush is a conspiracy, even if they have to evolve their conspiracy theories as reality changes and makes their previous statements impossible. Or when reality changes they just choose not to believe it, i.e., some of them believe it's not really Saddam we captured.

It's really quite sad. Turning everything into a conspiracy dimishes the importance of conspiracies when they actually exist. For example, I tend to believe there was more than one shooter on JFK. But suddenly conspiracy theories include JFK, Pearl Harbor, Roswell, 9/11... Basically every major event that happens is part of a conspiracy, apparently. And it's sad that people believe that. They've seen one too many Hollywood movies.

I read somewhere that conspiracy theories give people in this complex world a sense of thinking they know something that not everyone knows. It makes them feel special thinking they have it "figured out" rather than accepting that the world can be an evil, chaotic place.

Even if true, so what? Many wives have been killed by husbands that loved them at one point. That doesn't mean the wife was stupid to get married. Things change. Especially when measured in decades.

I haven't argued that no WMDs have been found. That's not a matter of debate. However, I suspect that if WMDs are found that many conspiracists will simply claim that they were planted and are part of the conspiracy. So if we don't find WMDs, it's a conspiracy. If we do find them, it's a conspiracy. Again, conspiracists have set things up so they can't lose.

I have no information on that, nor do I care. It goes along with what I said about wives being killed by husbands--lots of things change in 40 years and what might have made sense in 1963 won't necessarily make sense forever. That's a far cry from proof of a conspiracy. It's proof that things change in nearly half a century.

First of all, I'm American--not Mexican. I just happen to live in Mexico.

Second, the Mexican government has been corrupt since the PRI took control back around 1920 after the Mexican Revolution (their civil war, essentially)--long before Fox and long before even Bush Sr. was a factor. While things are still bad here, the government is definitely LESS corrupt in the 3 years that Vicente Fox has been president. And Vicente Fox is far lass powerful and authoritarian than all of his PRI predecesors. But if you knew anything about what you were talking about you'd know that.

But it's obvious you are talking about topics of which you have no factual basis whatsoever. Makes we wonder if you are equally misinformed in topics regarding your conspiracy theories?

I agree with you 100%. I'm an American and married to a Mexican. And both I (American) and she (Mexican) agree with you 100%: If Mexicans want to go to the U.S., they should do it legally. Just like I am legally living in Mexico.

A 70-year-old woman was overcome by grief at the capture of ousted Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and died of a heart attack after seeing pictures of the humiliating event, Jordan's Al-Rai daily said yesterday.

A relative of the woman, who was only identified by her initials, told the newspaper she broke into a fit of tears Monday and died after she saw a disheveled and haggard-looking Saddam in the hands of US troops.

The woman was "deeply saddened over Saddam's fate" and suffered a heart attack after seeing his images being flashed on television screens, the unnamed relative said, adding that she had been in very good health until then.
