Following the terrrorist attacks in Spain, NATO is now taking over responsibility for security at the Athens Olympic Games. The leftist parties in Greece are screaming about this, and getting ready to campaign. But the focus of the campaign should be the Pentagon report that came out a few weeks back, and the Pentagon view that climatic change is a worse threat than terrorism. Let us turn the Pentagon against NATO.

NEITHER can be trusted to do the right thing as far as i'm concerned.History proves it. A global army is NOT a solution. LESS globalism and NATIONAL sovereignty is.

There's no need to trust anybody except ourselves.For Europeans, the slogan is: THE PENTAGON SAYS THAT CLIMATE CHANGE IS A BIGGER THREAT THAN TERRORISM. YES TO THE PENTAGON, NO TO NATO.

Does anyone think they understand this so called "split" in thinking,with the Pentagon now calling climate change a major threat and the White House denying it. It is hard for me to imagine the Pentagon really taking a different approach especially with Rumsfeld's thinking that is not somehow trying to achieve the same thing as the Bush people. Is this only covert fear mongering to promote a 'fast track' for geoengineering?Another end run around the will of the people. The good cop bad cop game where the good cop ends up providing the "solution" the bad cop wanted all along??? SmT

Yes, of course that's what it is, but it can be used in ways that go beyond the intentions of the Pentagon, or of the Guardian and BBC.

mech,you say that the pentagon cant be trusted with the security, who would YOU trust. maybe charles manson can protect us. my question is which nations military would you want protecting you. aahhh, france. maybe sweeden or germany?

Im saying that POLICY decided by a TINY FEW gets people killed for no reason exept for money and power. That certainly makes me QUESTION military planners. Are there good people in the Pentagon? YES. Are there bad people? Absolutely.What would I do? Thats easy MR. BOOMHAUER. Id put our military ON OUR BORDER where millions of illegals are coming through... and pull out of the middle east ENTIRELY.
I'd create a strong DEFENSE....NOT OFFENSE.
