Presidential candidate Ralph Nader this weekend warned his constituents that a military draft is pending, and asked younger voters to prepare.

The independent candidate noted that the federal government is filling seats on local draft boards as preparation for a reinstatement of the draft, which was eliminated in 1973.

"The Pentagon is quietly recruiting new members to fill local draft boards, as the machinery for drafting a new generation of young Americans is being quietly put into place," Mr. Nader said in a press release sent out to constituents and posted on his Web site during the weekend.

"Young Americans need to know that a train is coming, and it could run over their generation in the same way that the Vietnam War devastated the lives of those who came of age in the sixties."

Kevin Zeese, a spokesman for the Nader campaign, said draft boards are being rebuilt "right now" and that the demands on the U.S. military are growing.

"I don't think that Ralph feels that the draft is imminent, but we are looking at the shortage of troops in Iraq and the calls from [Senator John] Kerry for 40,000 more troops. What Ralph is saying is that if students don't start to organize right now, it will be too late," Mr. Zeese said.

Rumors of a draft reinstatement emerged in the fall when the Selective Service announced that it was recruiting members for the nation's 2,000 local draft and appeals boards. A Selective Service spokesman said yesterday that the announcement was made to help fill spots on the boards, as many members' 20-year terms ended.

"It was misread then," said the spokesman, Pat Schuback. "Their terms are expiring right now, and that's what is going on."

"We're prepared to do our jobs here if needed," he said. "And it is important for us to be ready. The administration has been very clear about wanting to keep this volunteer, and we understand that. We let the politicians do the politics."

He noted that Selective Service, a branch of the Justice Department, has seen personnel numbers drop recently. The agency went from 166 full-time staffers in fiscal 2003 to 156 this year.

Another third-party candidate, Libertarian Aaron Russo, has joined Mr. Nader in warning Americans that a draft is a real possibility, despite denials from all quarters of the Bush administration.

Mr. Russo, one of three front-runners vying for the Libertarian nomination, said at a party forum in Virginia last month that "the draft is a bipartisan effort between Republicans and Democrats that will start after the 2004 presidential election, for obvious reasons," a prediction he repeats on his campaign Web site.

It would take legislative action by Congress to reinstate the draft, which was ended in 1973, about two months before the last U.S. troops were withdrawn from Vietnam. Registration with the Selective Service was halted from 1975 to 1980, but was reinstated under President Carter after Russia invaded Afghanistan.

A bill was drafted by South Carolina Sen. Ernest F. Hollings in January 2003, putting in place the parameters for a draft. Its House companion legislation was introduced simultaneously by New York Rep. Charles B. Rangel. Both lawmakers are Democrats.

The bills have gone nowhere, though, and nothing is expected to come from them.

Young men today are still required to register with the Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthdays. There are 15 million men ages 18 to 25 registered with the agency.

There exists too much silence about all this. As a grandfather this is a real travesty. If you are a parent OR grandparent, or are 18 to 26 YOU NEED TO READ THIS. I AM GIVING YOU FACTS HERE and the time left to prevent this increasing genocide is very limited. I've compiled in this article all the basic facts for you to decide about the so-called war on terrorism, and its implications. I can promise there is something in this article you have not thought about yet. I'll leave it to you to find it.

http://www.rense.com/general48/sdr.htm has been linked to by a number of other websites. That essay did a great job of bringing black helicopters out to my home. At least they know where I am now. See if I care. But there is an important aspect I failed to cover in it, and humbly do so below.

So, what is it about this war ? Who is the enemy ? You will see proof that in reality even our soldiers are given no more regard for their lives by our government, than the enemies they shoot at.

Isn't bringing back the draft a good thing ? Don't we want all our young men and women to be in the military ? That's what WILL happen, beginning this coming spring. ALL males and females from 18 to 26 will be drafted according to a Bill now in Congress. This saga began with Henry Hyde more than three years ago.

WHAT EXEMPTIONS ARE PLANNED ACCORDING TO RECENT INFORMATION ?

1. Under-classmen get to finish the semester in college 2. Upper-classmen get to finish the year. 3. Canada has already signed an agreement to prevent anyone from taking draft asylum there. Canada has had mandatory service for years, as many other countries do (including Switzerland.) I personally know of one man, who was here in the states doing his post-doc work, and had to return to Canada to serve his two years.

Apparently the only exemptions allowed to prevent being drafted are to have a non-breathing body, or not be human.

Maybe you haven't you heard about this ? Simple- because this is highly unpopular thing to do in an election year. And the Bush corp. is counting on voters NOT finding out about it. Don't be fooled into thinking this is a republican-only act. That's another false belief, because the man who brought this up again (as I pointed out above) is a democrat. Both sides of the isle want it. Make no mistake about it, because despite party names BOTH OF THEM HAVE THE SAME AGENDA. We might as well admit the system of checks and balances is in very bad shape.

By now you are thinking, "Bush will never sign it !" Not so. He has stated he will all along, and MUST have it to fuel his war. Tanks and planes are useless, without people to run them. Did you forget he promised us a 100 YEAR WAR ? So we have about 98 years to go. Think about who would volunteer for that, with people everywhere on earth knowing about the lies the soldiers hear about "coming home." Its quite simple- they can't come home, because that would stop the 100 year war.

Ask yourself- isn't he playing god ? He thinks he's the servant of god, because Rice herself has contacted people like Dr. Jack VanImpe. She said she did it on his behalf to "see if the president is following biblical prophecy." That be the case, then he will be the one to make Armageddon happen because in his mind, that's OK. Hence, even more war and even worse than the one we are in. But remember this- having enough SOLDIERS and PILOTS is the key to winning in any war, not just having technology. Once a land has been taken, there must be enough soldiers in place to secure it or you will lose it.

The new draft is planned to start next spring (2005.) Draft board positions all across the country are quietly being filled- more than 15,000 of them. Everyone foolishly thought the Patriot Act would never be signed. But they signed it. Then congressman complained they "didn't get a chance to read it." When Patriot 2 came along. THEY SIGNED THAT TOO. Still can't see the writing on the wall ? If you ever read these acts, then you would know that the signing of Patriot 2 took away ALL OF OUR BILL OF RIGHTS by simply using the new acts to nullify their effectiveness. Sure, the Bill of Rights still exists, but now its an almost powerless document. These acts are now being used for ALL crimes, as many true patriots predicted. And if the so-called "assault weapons ban" is signed into law- virtually every firearm WILL BE OUTLAWED in the US because of the general wording it has to describe an assault weapon. All the past dictators like Hitler, did this very same thing just before gun confiscation was ordered. First they took away the firearms. Then they came to take away the people. Doesn't anyone learn from history ?

Now, you will say "my children are all grown up and past the age of being drafted."

Did you forget about your grandchildren ?

You may also tell yourself, "This will never happen." WRONG. Even as you read this, the pentagon is trying to figure out from WHERE all the new soldiers will come from. Hence the new draft. And Iraq has left a bad taste in the mouth of the world, and countries are pulling their military out of Iraq one by one. Russia is one of the latest to announce this. They know what the score is, and see it as another Vietnam without end. I'm sure you do by now, too. Maybe the kidnappings are staged as a means to give countries a way to pull out. Has anyone thought of that ? If these Iraqi fighters have no fear of dying, THEN WHY DO THEY KEEP THEIR FACES COVERED ON CAMERA ? ARE THEY SPECIAL FORCES SOLDIERS SOMEONE WILL RECOGNIZE AS THEIR SON ?

Think back in history about other great campaigns- like the famous one of general Patton marching across Europe. Now how did he do that ? The key - he had support of almost all the people in the countries he marched through. Iraq is just the opposite. They hated us when we invaded, and now they hate us more because we never delivered on the promise of self-rule. They've had enough of fascist rule under Bremer.

Our men and women in Iraq fear for their lives. Its been called "a war without a front." A front-based war only can exist when the troops have a friendly area in a country they are LIBERATING. Therefore, a battle line (front) at some location is present. But what happens if ALL the territory in a country is not considered safe ? This war is completely different than other previous wars. Covert and guerilla fighting techniques are commonplace in Iraq. The entire populace is now considered a threat by American forces, and justly so. We earned that. Even Vietnam had fronts, and areas considered safe for R&R. But not over in a country infested by sand flies and fleas, parasites, silent diseases, chemicals and heavily radioactive.

The psychological implications of no safe zones for our troops is severe- you have no feeling of safety, no place to retreat to for any R & R at all. You can be wondering where the next RPG will come from day and night. Along with a feeling you are fighting a war you cannot win, which will prove true sooner than later. Even the controlled media is having a hard time trying to whitewash the truth lately.

The globalists have a big contradiction with their paradigm. It works this way: They want every country to be in peace to give them complete control. So globalists have taken away all guns in these countries they have quietly gained control over. Such as Australia and the UK..

What is the importance of this ? It creates a peace mindset in the government leaders of those countries, that they don't want to be involved in conflicts such as Bush has created. And who would want to anyway ? As a foreign leader its VERY unpopular to send your troops overseas to fight another country's battle. They have election years to worry about, too. These leaders like all their free taxpayer supported perks and don't want to lose them. Few people in the US think about this. So much for allied support.

Truth is, the peace-mindset is counter-productive to mustering military support for wars like Iraq. After Rumsfeld lied over and over to our troops about coming home "in a few months," they no longer believe him at all. At last count he has done this trick at least SIX TIMES. Military morale is now the lowest ever. And imagine getting letters from home- you've lost your home, car, wife and everything else, because your "military weekend reserve" obligation became your full time, less than minimum wage job and only source of income. And then you get to read letters from your buddies- who tell you they are seriously ill from being in the mideast, can't get a job because there aren't any, and are now in a wheel chair.

Is it any wonder our soldiers attempt to kill themselves ? Loving uncle sam has given them NOTHING TO LIVE FOR. And nothing but sickness to look forward to. And all during this, they fear for their lives 24/7. AND ALL THIS IS THE MADNESS OF ONE MAN"S OBSESSION IN WASHINGTON.

And now we get down to the title of this article- Gulf War Illness for your children. Maybe it should be called Bush War Illness (BWI.) After all, a Bush was in the whitehouse when both wars began.

It is a fact, that more than 100,000 of those who served in the first gulf war (we shall call GW1) are dead, or are dying. What are they dying of ? Biological and chemical illness. AND- they have unknowingly brought it home to their wives and children through casual contact. Now the wives and children have many of the same symptoms and problems as the veterans do. One VA doctor called into a radio show a few years ago, quite angry. He stated: "I was never over in the gulf, but now I have the illness." He contracted it just from examining veterans.

So off to a VA doctor they went, when they returned home from GW1. The doctors, also in the employ of dear old uncle sam told the vets to go see a shrink. They were told it was "all in their heads." Of course, this was a band-aid fix to shut them up, hoping the problem would "go away."

GOVERNMENT-CREATED DISEASE FACTS - THEY ADMIT IT Finally, about 5 years ago the VA admitted that the illness is REAL. But this was after thousands had died. It took the efforts of Joyce Riley, a GW1 RN nurse captain who fought off the illness on her own because she recognized it for what it is. Joyce and many others worked hard to change the VA's policies.The VA also finally admitted that "MS IS A WAR RELATED ILLNESS."

you'll see the truth about AIDS, cancer, CFS, MS, CJD and other neurosystemic and other "mystery diseases." Dr. Scott has the NIH govt. Report No. 9 from 1969 that clearly states the US Govt. created mycoplasmas, and these are among the deadliest and most contagious pathogens ever known. He also will make copies available for anyone that wants them. Dr. Scott lives near Ottawa, Canada.

It requires powerful treatments to destroy these diseases as Joyce Riley found out when she came home from GW1. To this day and to her credit, she helps out vets in any way she can that have been abandoned by uncle sam. These men and women call into her program, almost every day to talk about what serving their country has done to them. She is the sign of a true patriot.

JUST BIO AND CHEMICAL POISONING AND NOT COMING HOME- RIGHT ? So we'll have the draft, and everyone will get some type of bio or chemical disease. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL our progeny will receive.

There's more.

There is the matter of depleted uranium (DU) poisoning. Tanks often use radioactive, DU armor penetrating shells to destroy other tanks and buildings. When the javelin projectile burns and explodes, it spreads DU material in particle and gas form over a large radius. It also rains down on everyone. THIS IS SERIOUS. Now current returning war vets have tested POSITIVE for DU radioactivity in their urine. So now the vets get it three ways- biological, chemical and radioactivity. Just how much of a chance to live do you think they have with all this contamination, even if they manage to serve their term in Iraq and never stop a bullet ? And of all the various forms of contamination, DU poisoning is very difficult to cure, because the high energy gamma rays alter the DNA of the body. This greatly increases the likelihood of cancer and other auto-immune diseases.

So let's send our children and grandchildren off to fight in Bush's war to become poster art, as illustrated a while back on rense.

Title: A bill to provide for the common defense by requiring that all young persons in the United States, including women, perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE

(a) SHORT TITLE- This Act may be cited as the `Universal National Service Act of 2003'.

SEC. 2. NATIONAL SERVICE OBLIGATION.

(a) OBLIGATION FOR YOUNG PERSONS- It is the obligation of every citizen of the United States, and every other person residing in the United States, who is between the ages of 18 and 26 to perform a period of national service as prescribed in this Act unless exempted under the provisions of this Act.

(b) FORM OF NATIONAL SERVICE- National service under this Act shall be performed either--

(1) as a member of an active or reserve component of the uniformed services; or

(2) in a civilian capacity that, as determined by the President, promotes the national defense, including national or community service and homeland security.

(c) INDUCTION REQUIREMENTS- The President shall provide for the induction of persons covered by subsection (a) to perform national service under this Act.

(d) SELECTION FOR MILITARY SERVICE- Based upon the needs of the uniformed services, the President shall--

(1) determine the number of persons covered by subsection (a) whose service is to be performed as a member of an active or reserve component of the uniformed services; and

(2) select the individuals among those persons who are to be inducted for military service under this Act.

(e) CIVILIAN SERVICE- Persons covered by subsection (a) who are not selected for military service under subsection (d) shall perform their national service obligation under this Act in a civilian capacity pursuant to subsection (b)(2).

SEC. 3. TWO-YEAR PERIOD OF NATIONAL SERVICE.

(a) GENERAL RULE- Except as otherwise provided in this section, the period of national service performed by a person under this Act shall be two years.

(b) GROUNDS FOR EXTENSION- At the discretion of the President, the period of military service for a member of the uniformed services under this Act may be extended--

(1) with the consent of the member, for the purpose of furnishing hospitalization, medical, or surgical care for injury or illness incurred in line of duty; or

(2) for the purpose of requiring the member to compensate for any time lost to training for any cause.

(c) EARLY TERMINATION- The period of national service for a person under this Act shall be terminated before the end of such period under the following circumstances:

(1) The voluntary enlistment and active service of the person in an active or reserve component of the uniformed services for a period of at least two years, in which case the period of basic military training and education actually served by the person shall be counted toward the term of enlistment.

(2) The admission and service of the person as a cadet or midshipman at the United States Military Academy, the United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, the Coast Guard Academy, or the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

(3) The enrollment and service of the person in an officer candidate program, if the person has signed an agreement to accept a Reserve commission in the appropriate service with an obligation to serve on active duty if such a commission is offered upon completion of the program.

(4) Such other grounds as the President may establish.

SEC. 4. IMPLEMENTATION BY THE PRESIDENT.

(a) IN GENERAL- The President shall prescribe such regulations as are necessary to carry out this Act.

(b) MATTER TO BE COVERED BY REGULATIONS- Such regulations shall include specification of the following:

(1) The types of civilian service that may be performed for a person's national service obligation under this Act.

(2) Standards for satisfactory performance of civilian service and of penalties for failure to perform civilian service satisfactorily.

(3) The manner in which persons shall be selected for induction under this Act, including the manner in which those selected will be notified of such selection.

(4) All other administrative matters in connection with the induction of persons under this Act and the registration, examination, and classification of such persons.

(5) A means to determine questions or claims with respect to inclusion for, or exemption or deferment from induction under this Act, including questions of conscientious objection.

(6) Standards for compensation and benefits for persons performing their national service obligation under this Act through civilian service.

(7) Such other matters as the President determines necessary to carry out this Act.

(c) USE OF PRIOR ACT- To the extent determined appropriate by the President, the President may use for purposes of this Act the procedures provided in the Military Selective Service Act (50 U.S.C. App. 451 et seq.), including procedures for registration, selection, and induction.

SEC. 5. INDUCTION.

(a) IN GENERAL- Every person subject to induction... shall be called and inducted by the President for such service at the time and place specified by the President.

(c) VOLUNTARY INDUCTION-
(d) EXAMINATION; CLASSIFICATION-

SEC. 6. DEFERMENTS AND POSTPONEMENTS.

(a) HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS-

(1) obtains a high school diploma;

(2) ceases to pursue satisfactorily such course of study; or

(3) attains the age of 20.

(b) HARDSHIP AND DISABILITY-

(1) extreme hardship; or

(2) physical or mental disability.

(c) TRAINING CAPACITY-

(d) TERMINATION- No deferment or postponement of induction under this Act shall continue after the cause of such deferment or postponement ceases.

SEC. 7. INDUCTION EXEMPTIONS.

(a) QUALIFICATIONS- .....meets the same health and physical qualifications applicable under section 505 of title 10, United States Code, to persons seeking original enlistment in a regular component of the Armed Forces.

(b) OTHER MILITARY SERVICE- No person shall be liable for induction under this Act who--

(1) is serving, or has served honorably for at least six months, in any component of the uniformed services on active duty; or

(2) is or becomes a cadet or midshipman...a member of the Senior Reserve Officers' Training Corps... satisfactorily continues in and completes two years training therein.

SEC. 8. CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTION.

(a) CLAIMS AS CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTOR- ... shall, when inducted, participate in military service that does not include any combatant training component.

(b) TRANSFER TO CIVILIAN SERVICE- ... be transferred to a national service program for performance of such person's national service obligation under this Act.

SEC. 9. DISCHARGE FOLLOWING NATIONAL SERVICE.

(a) DISCHARGE- ...

(3) The term `United States', when used in a geographical sense, means the several States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam.

(4) The term `uniformed services' means the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, commissioned corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and commissioned corps of the Public Health Service.

A senior Republican lawmaker said Tuesday that deteriorating security in Iraq may force the United States to reintroduce the military draft.

"There's not an American ... that doesn't understand what we are engaged in today and what the prospects are for the future," Senator Chuck Hagel told a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on post-occupation Iraq.

"Why shouldn't we ask all of our citizens to bear some responsibility and pay some price?" Hagel said, arguing that restoring compulsory military service would force "our citizens to understand the intensity and depth of challenges we face."

The Nebraska Republican added that a draft, which was ended in the early 1970s, would spread the burden of military service in Iraq more equitably among various social strata.

"Those who are serving today and dying today are the middle class and lower middle class," he observed.

The call to consider a imposing a draft comes just days after the Pentagon moved to extend the missions of some 20,000 of the 135,000 US troops in Iraq.

Some critics of the US-led occupation complain that military planners used too few troops to subdue Iraq, and insist that more military muscle will be needed to restore order.

The US-led military coalition was put under further strain by the announcement this week by coalition members Spain and Honduras that they would withdraw their military contingents from Iraq.

Meanwhile, witnesses at the hearing, including academics and former US officials, expressed concern about ongoing flareups of violence in Iraq this month -- the bloodiest yet for US troops.

"I think it's clear that pressures in Iraq have reached the boiling point," said Samuel Berger, national security adviser during the Bill Clinton administration, who called for an increase in troops there, and a "genuine, non-grudging effort to internationalize the enterprise in Iraq, both military and civilian."

"We've got to be prepared to give up our hammerlock on decision making in exchange for genuine burden sharing."

Richard Perle, a former White House adviser who currently serves as a fellow at a conservative think tank, advised against adding troops or extending the date of handover of Iraqi sovereignty beyond the currently-set June 30 date.

"It is essential that we not delay the handover of sovereignty set for the end of June, even if there is continuing violence by those who know they have no place in a decent, democratic Iraq," he said.

Perle also warned against entrusting the United Nations with the post-occupation administration of Iraq, saying UN involvement should be kept at "an absolute minimum."

"A large UN contingent in Iraq ... would do more harm than good," Perle said.

"It would discourage the assumption of sovereignty by Iraqis themselves. It would drain resources urgently needed for the development of Iraq's economy," Perle said.

A senior Democrat meanwhile, lashed out at the White House for failing to send a top administration official to appear before the panel.

The sought after has finally arrived. It's been well over a year, closer to two, since the formal Council of Conspirators began to plot the arrival of this day. Finally WAR has arrived in all its blood and ruin-all it's chaos and oblivion.

When the plotting first began, it only sought to change the language. The death of subtlety was next among the casualties and was soon followed by the total reorganization of society's priorities and governmental symbols. Emphasis was placed upon the use of words and terms. FEAR was loosed upon the country. The fear of every word was echoed in the terror, of anything that might conflict with the impending promise of the war to come.

This was to be the new way of all things. This would mark the new age of Pax Americana, (Bush Doctrine 2002) and would become our footprint on planet earth. Imperial American military might was to be the one and only path to any goal worth taking. In our number-oneness, we proceeded to become the embodiment of "IT." Nothing could stop this Empirical force that had been ordained by perversions, combined with tortured religious fanatical visions, and aided immeasurably by vast amounts of homegrown arrogance and greed. So this irresistible force was aimed and fired at the Middle East, and at Iraq in particular; after having first glanced off the deserts of Afghanistan, as being less than useful to the glory of this cause.

And all this while, the Council of Conspirators continued to design their dirty little plots and their secret basement plans, supported by the theft of billions from other programs, because the "WAR" was always uppermost. No mention was made that before this unholy alliance was formed, there was no threat, there was no need to fight and die in distant deserts, for ideas that have become so contorted as to lose all meaning now, beneath the boots of American invaders in an ancient land that has no need of us.

But still, the facts aside, they plotted and they schemed. This would be the great achievement, a legendary victory in the annuals of military arms. Our invading forces would be met with flowers and open arms, and soon all Iraq would begin to resemble West LA. But time passed, and our troops continued to play at war. Thousands upon thousands of the native population were killed - slaughtered really, by bombs and tanks and heavy weapons, and always this regrettable collateral damage was dismissed as, just part of the price of freedom.

Then a few months ago the pace of our need to prepare the locals for their new yoke of American subjugation was stepped up. We went back to house-to-house raids, to middle of the night searches for those who were not there. On this path over the last year over 10,000 people were arrested, and not charged. It is still not known how many others were simply killed in these housekeeping actions designed to make the country secure enough for freedom and democracy. Something else arrived with all of this, something fiercely angry, something unrelenting and remorseless - a people were beginning to awaken to the seizure of their land and of their way of life. As the anniversary of the beginning of this crime approached, a new and unquiet spirit began to move throughout that land, and with it came the true dogs of war: red of tooth and claw, frenzied in their outrage, determined in their wrath to force us from their land. And this is where we are today.

This was the scene, behind the scene, when four American mercenaries were ambushed and murdered, their corpses brutally disfigured and left hanging from a bridge in Fallujah. The images were flashed around the world. Outrage was immediate and the military soon decided to pounce upon the "thugs" that did this to these American civilians. But they weren't civilians, they were mercenaries, calling themselves contractors, and they were armed to the teeth in a war zone. They were also part of the same group of Americans that had been ripping people from what was left of their homes, at gunpoint, in the middle of the night and hauling half of them away to camps, never be heard from again. Those not arrested were frequently beaten, usually in front to their families, and sometimes killed. All of this in a brutal effort to discover who the enemy really was: then the men in black would just disappear until the next time. This was what the people of Fallujah remembered about American law and order, and this is part of what has finally brought on the full appearance of total WAR, back into Iraq.

Prior to the four dead mercenaries, thousands and thousands of Iraqi's died brutal and needless deaths, and no one except other Arabs allowed those pictures to go out into the world. The American War machine didn't even count how many of those they came to liberate, who had to die, to get their personal slice of freedom's sometimes deadly air.

When Fallujah resisted in force, the American war machine went over-the-top with all weapons blazing. In that weeklong outburst we claimed that 95% of all those killed were resistance fighters. The facts say otherwise. The dead children and so many women and the elderly with bullets in the back are hard to argue with. But our intrepid media representatives saw none of this.

Now, everything has changed. The war that didn't happen last year has arrived in full and bloody conflagration. The road between Baghdad and the Airport is now a free fire zone, transports cannot move except in the far north of the country. All over Iraq, the military is under siege by reinvigorated people who want their country back. People also want their families to be free from marauding invaders and of having their homes and farms bombed, their way of life destroyed by those who do not even speak their language: People (mostly US military) who ridicule their religion and their customs, and shoot too often, before they even know what might be going on.

Before we came they had Saddam and his brutality, but they also had remnants of the world's oldest civilization, their museums and their ancient books, their records, and their way of life. Many of their women held open and honorable professions, today these same women are uncertain of their future, in a society now permanently in flux. During the invasion most people could only watch while US Marines either stood by and watched it all go up in flames, or watched the bandits as they looted what was left of what used to be the Iraqi state. There is little love between the people of Iraq and their current occupiers (us).

What is different now, is that the tables have been completely turned, and we are about to finally have to begin to pay the price that war demands, from those who chose war carelessly. Body bags are the first instance of failed political polices. In this case diplomacy was never even tried-because our anointed one, had talked to god and then decided, "WAR was what it had to be!" Never mind that there were laws about making those kinds of decisions. This mattered not to BUSH, because he was chosen above all men to bring freedom to the waiting world, despite the rights of other peoples, and the Constitution of the USA. Bush had his mission, and nothing as small as the US Congress or the courts were going to get between him and his mission: because he was chosen by god to do this. So Bush ordered the war to begin, but knowing nothing of war in reality, he didn't even begin to see this coming!

Now as surely as night follows day, WAR has followed on his orders, having heard the call directly from his lips. A little late perhaps, but at last the bloody fighting has finally begun, and our leader will finally have his war to stain his term of office, and to mark the premature end of thousands of lives that need not have been terminated by this mentally deficient fool who calls himself "the president." Now his only problem is how to escape this ever-growing quagmire in the wasteland that Iraq has now become?

We cannot leave, and we cannot stay. Our allies are beginning to pack it in, and have second thoughts about what this adventure was really been about. This is not just W's problem; anymore it's ours as well. Those troops that are dying daily, they are our loved ones, part of the blood and treasure than Bush has thrown away so freely just to satiate his ego, in his little talks with god. When politics is just a bit of theater, a little graft, and a lot of corruption, that's business as usual. But when politicians begin to buy their own BS, and begin making claims upon the world, and all the profits that abound within it - then it's time for the ancient Gods of WAR to begin to play their bloodstained hands-again.

Now there is all this talk about elections; who is credible, and who is not - it's bunk! Iraq is not ours to dictate to, it never was. The entire fiasco about elections has nothing to do with running Iraq; it has only to do with saving the ass of the idiotic fools that invaded Iraq in the first place-unilaterally-standing as they did against the whole world, except for the Brits and the Israeli's. Well they did their thing, and got the disaster that they were told they should expect. Now they want to dignify all that death and destruction they have wrought in Iraq, by papering over all that crime with yet another puppet government! Times up for the Bushites. The world has been there and done this; way too many times already. This time it just won't wash-we'll have to wait and see, no doubt-but the odds are heavier this time, against this course of action, than they have ever been before!

How shall we explain the footprint that we will not leave in old Iraq? How can we explain to our children what we tried to do to all those people, and in the name of what? "We killed them in order to make them free?" We bankrupted this nation and drained even the red ink from our treasury in service to which multi-national corporate friends of the man who stole that office that he claims as his? And despite all that, we have done nothing to rein in this man who talks to god, and sends our men and women out to die, because he has a vision for the world?

It's fascinating that none of the "newscasts" here have had the courage to show us what is happening daily to our troops, or to those that we are killing by the hundreds in Iraq. We've been practicing selective coverage now since well before this "war" began. When will we begin to choose to tell the truth? Because the way it's going now, we will soon be trapped by our own military shortsightedness. Those failures can't be covered up forever. When will that day of reckoning arrive? Maybe just like" the revolution" - the results this time just won't be televised.

And what I will say is I didn't want this occupation! The presidential hopeful for the other party, is posing as a hardliner at the moment to gain votes of the swing ignoramus voters who seem to feel that the responsiblity to rebuild Iraq involves our troops staying in Iraq. Actually all the responsiblity we have is monetary, so why not just send them money instead of sending them soldiers who give their lives and sanity to destroy more Iraqis? It's no more a war on terrorism than it was a war on terrorism when the colonists fought the British! Hussein is out and Halliburton should leave! Let the Iraqis pay the Dickshits a few pennies on the gallon and funnel more money for rebuilding and get the hell out while repairing our international relationships! Let our country suffer for allowing this to happen by jacking up our oil prices -- but don't institute a draft, ship more young men over to destroy more Iraqis and ship them back in boxes expecting stability, democracy, or less terorism there or around the world! Is it worth it? Will our tax dollars even stretch that far? It's a recipe for our own national suicide and the stupidity and cupidity is beyond my ability to tolerate! TREASON is a gentle word compared to what I'd like to do to these neocon lawbreakers and destroyers of nations, spirits, and lives.

And while we're at it, let's legalize drugs and privatize rehab/distribution clinics for small business and hospitals and take our money back from the CIA drug business and put it in the people's hands!

Throw in narrowing defense spending and funneling funds into alternative energies and leave the Middle East peoples alone!

There is a military draft coming in 2005. All young Americans should be alarmed, that their life is at risk like this. The Universal Military Training and Service Act of 2001 lays the groundwork for this new draft, which could be implemented as early as March 31st, 2005, and it calls for the draft to be ready for service within a period of 75 days. Listen closely. June 15th, 2005 could be the first activation of the military draft in over 30 years. Our government has already signed a treaty with both Mexico and Canada agreeing that they will not harbor draft dodgers, and will ship them back to America to be drafted, like sheep being led to slaughter.

I am an adolescent, nineteen years of age, who just wants to live. That is all. There are many like us all over the world, who just want to live a life, free from ignorance, free from violence, free from war. Why is this so hard? Why must there always be so much hatred, so much chaos, especially on the part of the so-called civilized world, and its leaders? Our leaders do not be able to comprehend the fact that violence and retaliation is not going to do a single thing, but inflame more violence.

This government corruption, this fascism, must be resisted. This is a mockery of what little freedom we have left in America. This society has treated us like slaves, like robots, and we have accepted this slavery with a smile on our face. We were all brainwashed into the impossible dreams that society has placed in our heads. We have been conditioned into ignorance, into blind conformity. Our society has attempted to destroy the human spirit. Our society has made a disgrace of everything beautiful and sacred.

Well, the tide is turning. A large number of Americans, especially youngsters, have woken up to the lies we have been fed. People are waking up, and realizing that our government and society does not have the right to tell them how to live their lives, or to blind them with ignorance. A great many people are angry. They are angry that our system has blinded so many others, and kept them content in their own ignorance. They are crying out for freedom, the freedom to simply live.

The truth is spreading, and it cannot be stopped. The fascists in control of our society may try, but they cannot contain truth, they cannot keep the ignorant sheep of America asleep for much longer. Our government fears that the majority will awaken, and realize how they have been enslaved, both mentally and physically, and this scares them. It scares them because they fear losing their power, and only god knows what ends they might deem necessary to retain that power. Martial law seems like a very likely method. What will you do, how will you feel, when you realize that a police state has been in the making for years, and you did nothing to stop it?

In a nation where the poor and old cannot afford health care, where the economy is falling apart, where 15 percent of people live below the poverty line, where hundreds of thousands are homeless, and where the entire mass media system is owned by six mega-media conglomerates; in a nation with the world's highest crime rate and world's largest prison population; in a nation where half of all marriages end in divorce, where 25 percent of kids under 12 live in poverty, and where the gulf between the rich and poor is growing everyday; in a nation that supports dictatorships in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey; in a nation where the government is plagued by corruption and fascism and 40 percent of the homeless are veterans; in a nation with one of the world's highest teen suicide and stress rates – you're telling me our biggest problems are terrorism and drugs?

Once again the power elite are instituting actual slavery, but this time not just over people of color but also over every young American aged 18 to 26, regardless of race or sex.

Don't like your daughter dying for oil money? That's okay, because she can still be forced against her will to serve for low pay as, well, ............anything that strikes the fancy of the Congressional representatives in committee that week.

Now we know why not one military funeral of a U.S. soldier from Iraq has been shown in the TV media, except that of a female. It forces us to think of women in combat roles. It also portends the government's plan for many more dead daughters to come. So as you change the diapers on your adorable baby girl, think of what a great killing machine your government will make of her, one day. Or a statistic on a Pentagon casualty report.

Think of why the government publik skool system is so heavy on teaching obedience to state authority and micromanaging students' personal lives. Same government.

Remember the name of Rep. Charles Rangel, D-NY. He's one of the NWO statists who sponsored this new slavery, this New Draft, titled the UNIVERSAL NATIONAL SERVICE ACT under HR 163 which calls for a MINIMUM slavery period of 2 years to the state, preferably in combat roles as moving targets in third-world countries. This is necessary to insert puppet governments friendly to US oil and trade interests. Almost no one sees the irony of a slave descendant conscripting slaves to make more slave states worldwide.

Conscientious objectors will have no out, this time around. Instead they will be assigned elsewhere as slaves to any location for a lot longer than 2 years, in reprisal for their refusal to support the killing of other poor kids. Remember, the National Service terms are for a "minimum" of 2 years. No maximum is mentioned.

Even if they change the Act's wording to say a "maximum of 2 years...," to placate outraged constituents, once the Act is passed they can change the period of involuntary servitude to even 20 years, if they only vote to do so.

All Americans need do is their usual nothing, for this evil to triumph. All they need do is ignore past government promises that our Social Security Numbers would never be used for personal identification and tracking, to accept the government lies they will now hear about the UNSA.

In the U.S. Senate, the UNIVERSAL NATIONAL SERVICE ACT is S 89. Remember also the name of U.S. Senator Fritz Hollings.

If you're wondering why the UNSA is being forced on us, remember that we have troops stationed in over a hundred different countries, supporting the installation of local agents who will bring about more profits to U.S. megacorporations, the "military-industrial complex" that President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned us about. All this is being done in the name of a democracy that doesn't even exist in the USA. Yet think of what Patrick Henry said: "Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation?"

The rate of U.S. servicemen re-enlisting is at an all-time low. Those on leave from severe duty such as in Iraq are refusing to return, facing courts martial as a better alternative. So far the media is spiking any stories about our soldiers walking away in disgust because of being ordered to perform human rights atrocities, such as kidnapping the women and children of "terrorist" Muslim soldiers to force them to turn themselves in. Those U.S. soldiers wise enough to have kept evidence are given a quiet discharge with full benefits as long as they keep quiet.

Because they receive such dramatically poor treatment when wounded and their children suffering poverty because of an ungrateful government, U.S. military forces are rapidly shrinking. The cure for this by the Charlie Rangels and Fritz Hollings of the world is slavery, never equity. Instead of providing better dependent care, pay and benefits, especially to those servicemen and women who wind up in wheelchairs, these traitors to their oath of office have chosen instead to keep the dollars for their favorite porkbarrels. It's a lot cheaper and easier to institute the enslavement of our children and only pay an ad agency to sway Americans with false patriotism in measured soundbytes on the nightly news shows.

Our nation is on the brink of becoming a totalitarian state no different than any communist country, in making the state god over the lives of its citizens by enslaving them to any task that increases its central power. To do that, it must instill fear in its populace.

TEHRAN (MNA) – Canadian research centers have reported that during the war against Iraq the U.S. military used depleted uranium (DU) weapons which caused the radiation level to rise at least 300 times above normal, and the weapons caused similar effects in Afghanistan.

U.S. troops have recently begun removing contaminated topsoil in Iraq, taking it to an unknown location.

Scientists believe the next generation of children of citizens of both countries exposed to DU will suffer from higher rates of birth defects and cancer.

The Uranium Medical Research Centre (UMRC) issued a report based on a 13-day survey throughout the primary conflict zones in urban and rural areas of central and southern Iraq on October 2003, according to Risq News.

The team performed radiation surveys, nuclide analysis, interviewed civilians and community leaders, collected biological and field samples, and investigated the possible health effects of depleted uranium contamination on Iraqi civilians.

According to the report, the U.S. has used uranium oxide deposits as strong explosives in common and fire bombs.

The most disturbing circumstance was observed in the U.S. occupied base in southwestern Baghdad in the Auweirj district. It is close to the international airport and hosts one of the largest coalition bases around Baghdad, occupying the operational headquarters of the Iraqi Special Republican Guard. The area was subject to considerable aerial bombing and rocket fire prior to the coalition ground forces' arrival followed by several ground skirmishes along the main routes to the international airport and western entrances to the city.

Departing the coalition-occupied base was a long, a steady stream of tandem-axle dump trucks carrying full loads of sand, heading south away from the city. Returning from the south was a second stream of fully loaded dump trucks waiting to enter the base. As the team passed the base’s main entrance, the gates were opened to reveal bulldozers spreading soil while front-end loaders were filling the trucks that had just emptied their loads of soil (silt and sand). The arriving trucks were delivering loads of sand into the base while the departing trucks were hauling away the base’s topsoil.

The method of topsoil removal and replacement at U.S.-occupied bases, living facilities, and administrative buildings is mechanically resuspending tons of potentially contaminated particulate. The dust clouds are lofting above and spreading over the entire area -- 5,000,000 residents in Baghdad alone. It is also exposing thousands of U.S. military personnel and the many frequent foreign visitors including NGO staff, reconstruction crews, business and trade delegates, and diplomatic and foreign service employees.

It’s not just UMRC that has reported the high level of radiation in Iraq, many American journalists and researchers have also confirmed the reports.

The situation in Afghanistan is worse, with tests showing even higher levels of radiation than Iraq.

Soldiers in Desert Storm (Persian Gulf War I) knew the danger of uranium toxicity from U.S. and British ordnance, and many believe that Gulf War syndrome is caused by exposure to depleted uranium.

The United States is headed for a military draft as soon as next year, Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich said today: "Every sign points in that direction."

"Not only has the Administration daily renewed its commitment to continue the occupation and keep our troops there indefinitely," Kucinich pointed out, "but now there are even more troubling indications, including Congressional support, that make the draft more and more likely."

Other nations that have been part of the U.S. military coalition are "responding to the concerns of their own citizens" by pulling out their troops, putting an even greater burden on U.S. forces, he said. "First Spain, now Honduras and the Dominican Republic, possibly the Philippines, and even expressions of concern from Poland, which has the second largest military contingent in Iraq," Kucinich noted.

Even before the other nations publicly announced their intentions, the Pentagon had already ordered 20,000 U.S. troops to stay in Iraq beyond their tour of duty. Now, with the exodus of troops from other nations, "Nour own troops are stretched even further and are in more danger," he said.

Kucinich, an Ohio Congressman who led the fight on the floor of the U.S. House in opposition to the war authorization resolution in 2002, said the recent escalation in violence in Iraq is evidence that the Administration miscalculated the scope of the military effort and misjudged the reactions of the Iraqi people to the invasion and occupation.

"Now, leaders of both the Republican and Democratic parties are talking about ways to increase U.S. troop strength there to 'stabilize' the country," Kucinich said. "It was the invasion itself that destabilized the country, and the longer we stay, the more our young men and women will be targets."

As recently as yesterday, a senior Republican lawmaker raised the possibility that restoring the draft might be the only way to meet the increasing security demands in Iraq, Kucinich said. "It would take an act of Congress, but this is the same Congress that voted to authorize the war and later voted to fund it." He also pointed out that legislation has already been introduced in Congress, supported by some members of both parties, to resume the draft.

At the same time, Kucinich said that over the past few months, the Selective Service System has been quietly filling vacancies on local draft boards all across the country claiming that the actions are "merely administrative." Kucinich said he sees it otherwise: "The Pentagon has already sent tens of thousands of National Guard men and women and Reservists to Iraq," and some U.S. leaders have said the military needs 40,000 or more new personnel, in part to offset declining re-enlistments.

"I assure you, both Republicans and Democrats are looking at the draft as a way of meeting those quotas and meeting the demands of our current military policy," Kucinich said.

Kucinich, the only Democratic challenger to presumptive Democratic nominee John Kerry, has been campaigning across the country urging voters to support his candidacy to send a message to the Democratic Party that it needs to take a position against the war, in favor of turning over peacekeeping and reconstruction to the United Nations, and for bringing U.S. troops home.

"The Democratic Party must have the courage to take a strong stand to bring this war to an end," Kucinich said. "The lives of countless young men and women are on the line."

He concluded, "America must take a new course: get out of Iraq and stop the threat of a draft."
